Arthabaska County, Quebec
Arthabaska County is an historical county founded in 1855 in central Quebec, Canada. Its county seat was Arthabaska and the main city was Victoriaville. It was bounded on the northeast by Mégantic County on the southeast Wolfe County, on the southwest by Drummond County and Richmond County and on the northwest by Nicolet County. It was formed from the townships of Warwick, Standold, Arthabaska, Chester-Est, Chester-Ouest and Tingwick, as well as part of the townships of Maddington, Blandford, Horton, Bulstrode, Simpson, and Aston. In the early 1980s Quebec's counties were abolished and most of Arthabaska County became the Arthabaska Regional County Municipality. The northeastern part of the county was transferred to L'Érable Regional County Municipality. The name of the county comes from the name of the township of Arthabaska, itself originating from the Cree language, in which it means "''where there are reeds''". Princeville, Quebec
Princeville is a city in the Canadian province of Quebec, located in L'Érable Regional County Municipality in the Centre-du-Québec region. The population was 6,001 as of the Canada 2016 Census. History The county of Stanfold (Princeville) was created by Édouard Leclerc on July 9, 1807 when he established himself on lot 6, rang 12 in Princeville. A monument was erected in his honour on the east section of the 12th rang. Stanfold then had a new division that would become the village of Princeville in 1856. Thus two municipalities would now co-existed. On February 23, 2000, the municipalities of the city of Princeville and the parish of Princeville become one to form the new city of Princeville. Warwick, Quebec
Warwick is a small town north east of Montreal, located in Arthabaska county, Quebec, Canada. The town was incorporated in 1861 and named after a city of the same name in England. Up until 2014 the town hosted Quebec's annual summer cheese festival, which showcases many of the locally produced artisanal cheeses. In 2014 the festival was moved to Victoriaville. Warwick also claims to be one of the possible birthplaces of poutine (fries with gravy and cheese curds). It is an industrial centre, with factories for agricultural machinery, washing-machines, overalls, cheese-boxes, and doors. Warwick is located on Route 116.
