Art Sanders is a news anchor for KNX (AM) in Los Angeles, California. He previously spent 22 years with KNWN (AM) in Seattle, Washington (state) working primarily as the weekday evening anchor. His tenure with the station pre-dated the switch to the All-News Radio format in September 2002. In 2004, he auditioned for the announcer's spot on television's longest running game show, ''The Price Is Right'', after the death of Rod Roddy Robert Ray Roddy (September 28, 1937 – October 27, 2003) was an American radio and television announcer. KNX (1070 Hertz, kHz) is a commercial radio, commercial AM radio, AM radio station in Los Angeles, Los Angeles, California. It airs an all news radio, all-news radio format and is owned by Audacy, Inc. KNWN (1000 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Seattle, Washington, and serving the Seattle metropolitan area. Owned by Lotus Communications, the station primarily airs an all-news radio format. It is the local affiliate for ABC News Radio and identifies itself as "Northwest News Radio." KNWN is a clear-channel Class A station, broadcasting with 50,000 watts, the maximum power for American AM stations. All-news radio is available in both local and syndicated forms, and is carried on both major US satellite radio networks. Rod Roddy
Robert Ray Roddy (September 28, 1937 – October 27, 2003) was an American radio and television announcer. He was primarily known for his role as an offstage announcer on game shows. Among the shows that he announced are the CBS game shows ''Whew!'' and ''Press Your Luck.'' He is widely recognized by the signature line, "Come on down!" from ''The Price Is Right'', and it appears on his grave marker, although the phrase was originated and made popular by his predecessor Johnny Olson. Roddy succeeded original announcer Olson on ''The Price Is Right'' and held the role from 1986 until his death in 2003, and as of 2022, is the longest-serving announcer on the current incarnation of the show.
