Art López
Arturo López Rodríguez (born May 8, 1937) is a former professional baseball player. He played one season in Major League Baseball as an outfielder for the New York Yankees in 1965. He also played in Nippon Professional Baseball from 1968 until 1973. During his lone major league season, López played in 38 games in his one-year career. Lopez had seven hits in 49 at-bats, a .143 batting average. His greater success came in Japan's NPB, where he played for six seasons. In those seasons he batted .290 with 116 home runs. He was an All-Star in 1968, and played in the Japan Series in 1970 for the Lotte Orions. Outfielder
An outfielder is a person playing in one of the three defensive positions in baseball or softball, farthest from the batter. These defenders are the left fielder, the center fielder, and the right fielder. As an outfielder, their duty is to catch fly balls and ground balls then to return them to the infield for the out or before the runner advances, if there are any runners on the bases. As an outfielder, they normally play behind the six players located in the field. By convention, each of the nine defensive positions in baseball is numbered. The outfield positions are 7 (left field), 8 (center field) and 9 (right field). These numbers are shorthand designations useful in baseball scorekeeping and are not necessarily the same as the squad numbers worn on player uniforms. The Richmond Virginians was the name of a minor league baseball franchise that played in Richmond, Virginia, from 1954 through 1964.
