The Hunters (punk Rock Band)
The Hunters are a Canadian punk rock band from Quebec City. Since their formation in 2006, The Hunters have toured extensively in Canada, as well as the US East Coast and Europe. History Their first full-length, ''Dissent Lasts...'', has been released independently in 2008. In June 2010, Alexandre Hébert-Vincent was replaced by Danahé Rousseau-Côté on the guitar. On March 8, 2012, Stomp Records announced they were adding the band to their roster and releasing the second album, ''Promises'', on April 17. The music video for the first single off ''Promises'', "Van Party Forever" was released on June 5 and features the band playing with The Sainte Catherines during their farewell tour. The foursome toured and promoted their latest album in the United States in November and December 2012. ''Alternative Press'' is an American entertainment magazine primarily focused on music and culture, now based in Los Angeles, CA. It generally provides readers with band interviews, photos, and relevant news. It was founded in 1985 by Mike Shea in Cleveland, OH. The company is now looked after by MDDN. Beginnings The first issue of ''Alternative Press'' was distributed at concerts in Cleveland, Ohio beginning in June 1985 by ''APs founder, Mike Shea to advocate bands playing underground music. The name for the magazine, ''Alternative Press'', was not a reference to the alternative rock genre, but referred to the fanzine being an alternative to the local press. Shea began working on his first issue in his mother's house in Aurora, Ohio. Shea and a friend, Jimmy Kosicki, targeted the Cleveland neighborhood of Coventry. Stomp Records
Union Label Group is a record label based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It was formed through the merger of the smaller labels Stomp Records, 2112 Records, and Tyrant Records. Mayday! Records was later created as a genre imprint. Stomp Records was founded in 1994 by Matt Collyer of The Planet Smashers and Jordan Swift of The Kingpins. The label specializes in third wave ska, and was founded to release ''All-Skanadian Club Volume 1'', a compilation of ska and ska punk from across Canada. Soon after that release, The Planet Smashers released their self-titled debut album and The Kingpins released the "On the Run" EP on the label. In 2000, Stomp Records merged with 2112 Records, a Montreal label that specialized in punk rock, to form Union 2112. Tyrant Records released mod revival, garage rock, and new wave music. Promises (The Hunters Album)
''Promises'' is the second full-length album by Canadian rock band The Hunters. The album was released on April 17, 2012 on Stomp Records, their first on a record label. The first single, "Van Party Forever" was released on June 5 and the music video features the band playing with The Sainte Catherines during their farewell tour. The second music video is made entirely of shots from their journey to The Fest 11 in Gainesville. It was filmed during Hurricane Sandy and features the band driving all the way from Florida to Québec in a rental car as all flights were cancelled. It was released on November 27, 2012. A documentary webseries about ''Promises'' promotional tour was released in January 2013. Titled ''Driving on Promises'', the ten episodes cover the whole tour through Quebec and Ontario.
