''ArtChronika'' (russian: Артхроника) — was a Russian magazine about contemporary art, published from 1999 to 2013. One of the most influential Russian periodicals on this subject. History 1998—2001 In September 1998, the Moscow Collection Gallery, owned by Evgeny Zyablov, registered a periodical illustrated magazine about art - ''Moscow Collection'' (russian: Московское собрание). In June 1999, the "zero" issue of this magazine was presented with the changed title ''ART Moscow Collection'' (russian: ART Московское собрание) and with the subtitle “Chronicle of Artistic Life” (russian: Хроника художественной жизни) (No. 0, May 1999). Evgeny Zyablov became the editor-in-chief, Evgeny Raitses became the art director, the declared circulation was 10 thousand copies. Evgeny Maksimovich Zyablov (russian: Евге́ний Макси́мович Зя́блов, born 27 June 1960, Tashkent) is a Russian curator, manager, art publisher and entrepreneur, internationally renowned as Commissioner of the 1 Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (2005). Zyablov also was the Commissioner of the Russian pavilion at the 50th and 51st Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art (2003, 2005), and at the 9th and 10th Venice Biennale of Architecture (2004, 2006) as well. Zyablov was a founder, publisher (1999-2006, together with Alexander Sysoenko in 2000–2005) and editor-in-chief (1999-2001) of one of the leading Russian art publications, the ''ArtChronika'' magazine; founder, publisher and art director of the ''ArtGuide'' magazine (2005). The Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art is one of the most important Russian cultural events and was founded in 2003. First Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art The First Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art (January 28 – February 28, 2005) caused great response both in Russia and abroad. The main exhibition “Dialectics of Hope” included projects by 41 artists from 22 countries and represented art that focuses on one of the most fundamental experiences of a modern human being: hope.
