Arsys Bourgogne
Arsys Bourgogne is a French vocal ensemble. Founded in 1999 by Pierre Cao, it is now directed by Mihály Zeke. History The choir was founded in October 1999 at the request of the Burgundy regional department of the French Ministry of Culture. It has worked with many different orchestras, including the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin, the Concerto Köln, the Talens Lyriques, the Folies Françoises, the Cercle de l'Harmonie (Circle of Harmony), the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Stavanger Symphonic Orchestra, the Limoges Baroque Ensemble, the Orchestra of European Soloists and the La Fenice Ensemble. The ensemble has also performed in many different theatres, including the Tonhalle in Zürich, the Bruges Concertgebouw, the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Cité de la Musique in Paris, the Arsenal de Metz and the Auditorium de Dijon. Pierre Cao
Pierre Cao (born 22 December 1937 in Dudelange) is a Luxembourgian composer and conductor. He studied composition and conducting at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels. Classical music Cao is the regular conductor of Arsys Bourgogne with whom he has recorded Biber's Requiem and other baroque works. He taught at the Luxembourg Conservatoire until 1998 and has led various vocal ensembles in Luxembourg and the surrounding region. Johann Sebastian Bach (28 July 1750) was a German composer and musician of the late Baroque period. Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber
Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber ( bapt. 12 August 1644, Stráž pod Ralskem – 3 May 1704, Salzburg) was a Bohemian-Austrian composer and violinist. Biber worked in Graz and Kroměříž before he illegally left his employer, Prince-Bishop Karl Liechtenstein-Kastelkorn, and settled in Salzburg. He remained there for the rest of his life, publishing much of his music but apparently seldom, if ever, giving concert tours. Cornelius Hauptmann
Cornelius Hauptmann (born 14 June 1951) is a German opera and concert singer (bass). Life and career Born in Stuttgart, Hauptmann studied at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart. There he passed his stage examination in 1982 and as a student of Jakob Stämpfli he obtained the soloist diploma at the University of the Arts Bern. Master classes with Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Hans Hotter, Elisabeth Schwarzkopf (who supervised him for 24 years) and Eric Tappy made a significant contribution to his artistic development - as evidenced by numerous prizes and awards at international singing competitions. Peter Harvey (baritone)
Peter Harvey (born 1958) is an English baritone. Harvey specialises in Baroque music. However, he also sings works by later composers, including contemporary ones. Harvey was a choral scholar at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he studied languages before switching to music. He then went to the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Harvey is known for his performances of Bach. He was a soloist in the Monteverdi Choir's Bach Cantata Pilgrimage in 2000; he completed the bass parts in seventy cantatas in performance and recording. He has since contributed to the Bach cycle being recorded by the J. S. Bach-Stiftung with the conductor Rudolf Lutz. George Frideric Handel

''Israel in Egypt'', HWV 54, is a biblical oratorio by the composer George Frideric Handel. Most scholars believe the libretto was prepared by Charles Jennens, who also compiled the biblical texts for Handel's ''Messiah''. It is composed entirely of selected passages from the Old Testament, mainly from Exodus and the Psalms.
