Arshad Mehmood is a Pakistani singer. Many of his songs for the Pakistani film industry, Lollywood, have been popular. He won the Nigar Award for Best Playback Singer in 1992 and then again in 1996. The Nigar Awards ( ur, , translit=Inʿām Negār, lit=Picture Awards) were presented in an annual award show to recognize outstanding achievement in Pakistani cinema. The honors are awarded by Nigar Magazine founded in 1948. The Nigar Awards are Pakistan's version of the Academy Awards. The annual presentation ceremony features performances by prominent artists. The first Nigar Awards ceremony was held in 1957, to honor the accomplishments of Pakistani cinema for the year 1956. In 2002, following the 46th Annual Nigar Awards, Nigar Magazine announced its discontinuation of the awards due to the collapse of the Pakistani cinema industry. Lollywood
Lollywood ( ur, , translit=lâli vuḍ) refers to Pakistan's film industry based in Lahore, previously the base for both Punjabi and Urdu language film production. Lahore has been the center of Pakistani cinema since the partition of India in 1947. However, with Urdu film hub largely shifting to Karachi by 2007, film industry in Lahore became synonymous with Pakistani Punjabi film Industry. The word "Lollywood" is a portmanteau of "Lahore" and " Hollywood", coined in 1989 by Glamour magazine gossip columnist Saleem Nasir, and is usually used comparatively with respect to other film industries in South Asian cinema. Riaz-Ur-Rehman Saghar ( Punjabi, ur, ریاض الرحمان ساغر, (born 1 December 1941, Bathinda, Punjab, British India; died 1 June 2013, at Lahore, Pakistan) was a poet and a film song lyricist active in Pakistani cinema. He had been awarded numerous awards in recognition of his services to the Pakistani film industry. He is credited with having written over 25000 songs in his lifetime, including many for noted Pakistani singers such as Hadiqa Kiani ("Dupatta Mera Malmal Da" وپٹا میرا ململ دا "Yaad Sajan Di Ayi" اد سجن دی آوے and a duet song with Asha Bhosle and Adnan Sami Khan ("Kabhi to Nazar Milao" بھی تو نظر ملاؤ. Amjad Bobby ( Punjabi, ur, ; 1942 15 April 2005) was an acclaimed Pakistani music composer and director. Early life and career He was born in Amritsar, British India in 1942. His father wanted him to be a clerk but he preferred to become a film music composer. His first film as a music director was Aik Nagina (1969) and the song "Dil nahi toe koi sheesha koi pathar hi milay" in Ahmed Rushdi's voice gained him some recognition. ''Ghunghat'' (also spelled ''Ghoonghat'') (Urdu: ) is an Urdu language Pakistani film released in the summer of 1996. It marked Shaan's comeback into the Pakistani film industry and won the actor many plaudits for his performance as the scheming villain. It is directed by Syed Noor and produced by Shahzad Rafique.
