Arnulv Sudmann
Arnulv Sudmann (19 June 1912 – 30 April 1981) was a Norwegian journalist, magazine editor, encyclopedist and associate professor. He was a proponent for the use of the Nynorsk language. Biography Sudmann was born at Voss in Hordaland, Norway. He took artium in 1931, and later a magister degree in psychology at the University of Oslo in 1942. He was a journalist at ''Norsk Tidend'' from 1935 to 1936 and edited the magazine ''Nynorsk Vekeblad'' from 1941 to 1943. He was the principal editor of the Nynorsk encyclopedia ''Norsk Allkunnebok''. An encyclopedia (American English) or encyclopædia (British English) is a reference work or compendium providing summaries of knowledge either general or special to a particular field or discipline. The ''Great Norwegian Encyclopedia'' ( no, Store Norske Leksikon, abbreviated ''SNL''), is a Norwegian-language online encyclopedia. The online encyclopedia is among the most-read Norwegian published sites, with more than two million unique visitors per month. Paper editions 1978–2007 The ''SNL'' was created in 1978, when the two publishing houses Aschehoug and Gyldendal merged their encyclopedias and created the company Kunnskapsforlaget. Knut Helle
Knut Helle (19 December 1930 – 27 June 2015) was a Norwegian historian. A professor at the University of Bergen from 1973 to 2000, he specialized in the late medieval history of Norway. He has contributed to several large works. Early life, education and marriage He was born in Larvik as the son of school inspector Hermann Olai Helle (1893–1973) and teacher Berta Marie Malm (1906–1991). He was the older brother of politician Ingvar Lars Helle. The family moved to Hetland when Knut Helle was seventeen years old. He took the examen artium in Stavanger in 1949, and a teacher's education in Kristiansand in 1952. He studied philology in Oslo and Bergen, and graduated with the cand.philol. degree in 1957.
