Arnold Adriaan Buyskes
Arnold Adriaan Buyskess (Enkhuizen 21 January 1771 - Loosduinen 23 January 1838) was a Dutch naval officer, who also served as a Commissioners-General of the Dutch East Indies, Commissioner-General of the Dutch East Indies from 1816 to 1819. Before that he had been Herman Willem Daendels, Daendels lt.-Governor-General on Java from 1808 to 1809. He successfully led the punitive expedition against the insurgents in the Moluccas in 1817. Enkhuizen () is a municipality and a city in the Netherlands, in the province of North Holland and the region of West-Frisia. History Enkhuizen, like Hoorn and Amsterdam, was one of the harbor-towns of the VOC, from where overseas trade with the East Indies was conducted. It received city rights in 1355. On June 24, 1572 during the Eighty Years' War, in Enkhuizen five Franciscans from Alkmaar were hanged: known as the martyrs of Alkmaar.
