Arnljot Eggen
Arnljot Eggen (13 August 1923 – 4 February 2009) was a Norwegian journalist, teacher and poet who also wrote plays and children's books. Personal life Eggen was born at Tolga in Hedmark, Norway. He was the son of Eystein Eggen (1886–1973) and Emma Kvernmo (1890–1979). He was raised in the mountain village of Ålen where his father was a tradesman. He took examen artium in 1944. Further schooling was interrupted during the Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. In 1949 he married nurse Esther Louise Eriksen. He died in Oslo in 2009. Career Eggen had plans to become a journalist and held a temporary position with'' Østerdølen'' and ''Fjell-Ljom''. From 1950 he worked as a teacher in primary school, including at Vinstra and in Vardal later at Bærum. From 1960 until 1965, he was employed at the Norwegian Museum of Cultural History in Bygdøy. Tolga, Norway
Tolga is a municipality in Innlandet county, Norway. It is located in the traditional district of Østerdalen. The administrative centre of the municipality is the village of Tolga. The municipality is bordered in the east by the municipality of Tynset, in the south by Rendalen, and in the east by Engerdal and Os, all in Innlandet county. The municipality is the 99th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Tolga is the 300th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 1,551. Bygdøy
Bygdøy or Bygdø is a peninsula situated on the western side of Oslo, Norway. Administratively, Bygdøy belongs to the borough of Frogner; historically Bygdøy was part of Aker Municipality and became part of Oslo in 1948. Bygdøy is a popular recreation area and is among the most fashionable residential areas in Norway, where the most expensive properties in the entire country are found. Bergljot Hobæk Haff
Bergljot Hobæk Haff (1 May 1925 – 12 February 2016) was a Norwegian educator and novelist. Biography Haff was born at Botne (now Holmestrand) in Vestfold, Norway. Her parents were Lars Hobæk (1883–1938) and Martha Aarvold (1895–1987). Both of her parents were educators. She graduated from the Sandefjord Gymnasium in 1943. In 1947, she graduated from Oslo lærerhøgskole (now Oslo University College) with a degree in education. Upon completing her education, she moved to Denmark and taught school for 24 years before returning to Oslo in 1972. She made her debut with the novel ''Raset'' in 1956. She has written both contemporary and historical novels. Her writing has been characterized by original narrative and often by poetical imagination. Her works have also featured both mythical and allegorical interpretation. ''Klassekampen'' ( en, The Class Struggle) is a Norwegian daily newspaper. It describes itself as "the newspaper of the Left." The paper's net circulation is 34,000 (2021), and it has around 111,000 daily readers on paper (160,000 on Saturdays). This makes it the third largest Norwegian print newspaper, based on readership.
