Arnfinn Severin Roald
Arnfinn Severin Roald (26 June 1914 – 16 January 1983) was a Norwegian politician for the Norwegian Labour Party, Labour Party. He was born in Vigra. Roald, who belonged to Møre og Romsdal, was never elected directly to the Stortinget, Norwegian Parliament but served as a deputy representative in the periods 1945–1949, 1950–1953, 1954–1957 and 1958–1961. During the third term he was brought in as a replacement representative for Ulrik Olsen, who was appointed to the Cabinet at that time, after Olsen's original replacer Peter Kjeldseth Moe formally moved up in the line of succession to replace Anton Ludvik Alvestad who died in July 1956. Roald sat through that term and then returned to serve in deputy position. On local level Roald was deputy mayor of Vigra municipality in the period 1959–1963. Vigra
Vigra is a former municipality in Møre og Romsdal county on the west coast of Norway. The municipality existed from 1890 until its dissolution in 1964 when it was merged into the present-day Giske Municipality. The former municipality was made up of the island of Vigra along with many smaller islets surrounding it. The administrative centre of the municipality was the village of Roald, and Vigra Church was the main church for the municipality. Also, ''Vigra'' a meteorology term which is precipitation from a cloud that never reaches the surface. Møre og Romsdal (; en, Møre and Romsdal) is a county in the northernmost part of Western Norway. It borders the counties of Trøndelag, Innlandet, and Vestland. The county administration is located in the town of Molde, while Ålesund is the largest town. The Storting ( no, Stortinget ) (lit. the Great Thing) is the supreme legislature of Norway, established in 1814 by the Constitution of Norway. It is located in Oslo. Ulrik Olsen
Johan Ulrik Olsen (2 August 1885 – 4 October 1963) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was born in Hitteren as a son of farmer Peder Olsen (1847–1933) og Dorothea Hesnes (1848–1931). He became a journeyman carpenter in 1899, at the age of 14, and worked in that field until 1914, when he started his own fishing business. He was involved in the local branch of the International Organisation of Good Templars, from 1917 to 1918 he was a board member of Norges kooperative landsforening, and from 1913 to 1940 and 1945 to 1947 he was the board chairman of the local newspaper ''Tidens Krav''. He was a member of Kristiansund city council from 1913 to 1951, serving as mayor from 1934 to 1940 and 1945 to 1947. He also chaired the city school board from 1928 to 1933. Peter Kjeldseth Moe
Peter Kjeldseth Moe (18 May 1909 – 30 June 1973) was a Norwegian politician for the Labour Party. He was elected to the Norwegian Parliament from Møre og Romsdal in 1958, and was re-elected on three occasions. He previously served as a deputy representative in the period 1954–1957. During this term he served temporarily as a regular representative meanwhile Ulrik Olsen were appointed to the Cabinet, until July 1956 when the death of Anton Ludvik Alvestad meant that Moe was to be considered a full representative. Olsen was instead covered by another former deputy representative Arnfinn Severin Roald. Peter Kjeldseth Moe died in 1973 shortly before the end of his last term, and was replaced by Oskar Edøy. Anton Ludvik Alvestad
Anton Ludvig Alvestad (7 May 1883 – 2 July 1956) was a Norwegian politician and government minister for the Labour Party. Born in Sula, Alvestad was a baker by profession, and owned his own bakery. He was also active in the temperance movement. An active labour politician from an early date, he was among the founding members of the Labour Party of Ålesund. Between 1920 and 1921 he was the first Labour mayor of the city. Elected to the Norwegian Storting for the first time in 1921, he was re-elected repeatedly up until his death in 1956. Giske is an island municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. The municipality lies north-northwest of the town of Ålesund in the traditional district of Sunnmøre. The municipal centre is Valderhaugstrand. Other population centres include the villages of Roald (on Vigra island) and Alnes and Leitebakk (both on Godøya island).
