Arnay-le-Duc
Arnay-le-Duc () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Arnétois'' or ''Arnétoises'' Geography Arnay-le-Duc is located some 25 km north-west of Beaune and some 35 km south-east of Saulieu. Access to the commune is by the D906 road from Lacanche in the south-east passing through the town and continuing north-west. The D981 comes from the end of the A38 autoroute in the north-east and passes through the town continuing to the south-west where it becomes National Highway N81. These two roads were originally Gallo-Roman roads linking Autun and Alesia, then in the Middle Ages linking the Rhone corridor to fairs in Champagne. The D17 comes from Marcheseuil in the west passing through the town and continuing to Bligny-sur-Ouche in the east. The D117A goes north from the town to Allerey. Allerey
Allerey () is a Communes of France, commune in the Côte-d'Or Departments of France, department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Alériens'' or ''Alériennes'' Geography Allerey is located some 40 km north-west of Beaune and 30 km north by north-east of Autun. The D906 road passes through the western part of the commune but the village can only be accessed by smaller roads such as the D16 from the south which continues north-east to Arconcey, the D117A from the west which continues south-east to Arnay-le-Duc, and the D36 from Beurey-Bauguay in the north. The commune consists entirely of farmland except for the forested Bois de Come in the south-eastern corner. Bligny-sur-Ouche (, literally ''Bligny on Ouche'') is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in eastern France. History The history of Bligny is ancient. Its church is an interesting monument to visit (constructed within an old medieval castle) and is dedicated to Saint Germain l'Auxerrois. The history of the rural community of Bligny is characterized by a specific political organisation to the extent it was under the dual jurisdiction of the Bishop of Autun and the Duke of Burgundy. As a result, it was self-organised from the medieval times and ruled by a local mayor (the position was kept in the same family Le Maire). Since the 12th century, the village was protected by a regiment of archers which was constituted by all the valid men of the community (the regiment remained faithful to the Duke of Burgundy and was therefore dissolved). Antigny-la-Ville
Antigny-la-Ville () is a commune in the Côte-d'Or department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Antinniens'' or ''Antinniennes'' Geography Antigny-la-Ville is located some 60 km south-west of Dijon and 25 km north-west of Beaune. It can be accessed by the minor road D111 which runs off the D33 west of Bligny-sur-Ouche and passes west through the commune and the village continuing to join the D906 in the west. The D14 road also comes from Culètre in the north also passing through the village and continuing south to Lacanche. There are also many local roads giving access to the commune. In addition to the village there is also the hamlet of Chamoy in the north.
