Arna, Norway
Arna is a borough in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is one of eight boroughs in Bergen. It encompasses the northeastern part of the municipality of Bergen. Arna was merged into the city of Bergen in 1972. Prior to that, it was the separate municipality of Arna. The main population centres in the borough are the villages of Indre Arna, Ytre Arna, and Espeland. Location The borough of Arna has approximately 13,000 inhabitants. It lies along the Sørfjorden, east of the centre of the city of Bergen (the borough of Bergenhus). The large mountains Ulriken and Rundemanen lie between the city centre and Arna. Arna is geographically close to central Bergen, but it takes some time to drive there by road as there is currently no road tunnel. However, a train journey from Arna Station to Bergen only takes eight minutes since there is a train tunnel (Ulriken Tunnel) through the mountain. Espeland is a village in the borough of Arna in the municipality of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. Espeland is located north of Lake Haukeland ( no, Haukelandsvatnet) and Mount Livarden. The Ulriken Tunnel ( no, Ulrikstunnelen) is a railway tunnel on the Bergen Line between Bergen Station and Arna Station in Bergen Municipality in Vestland county, Norway. Original (old) tunnel The existing long tunnel runs under the northern part of the mountain Ulriken in Bergen. Before the tunnel was opened in 1964, the Bergen Line ran via Nesttun. Rundemanen
Rundemanen is a mountain in the city of Bergen in Vestland county, Norway. It is considered one of the " seven mountains" which surround the city centre of Bergen. At in height, it is the second highest of them all. It's a part of the same massif as the neighboring mountains of Fløyen, Blåmanen, and Ulriken, but not easily visible from the city center since it sits behind Fløyen. Ulriken
Ulriken (or the older, ''Ålreken'') is the highest of the Seven Mountains ( no, De syv fjell) that surround the city of Bergen, Norway. It has a height of above sea level. Ulriken has an aerial tramway, Ulriksbanen, that can bring people to the top. At the top there is a TV tower, a restaurant, and free telescopes.
