Charlie Armbruster
Charles A. Armbruster (August 30, 1880 – October 7, 1964) was a backup catcher in Major League Baseball who played from 1905 through 1907 for the History of the Boston Red Sox#History, Boston Americans and the Chicago White Sox. Biography A native of Cincinnati, Ohio, Ambruster shared catching duties with Lou Criger for the Boston Americans in part of three seasons. In 1906 he appeared in a career-high 72 games and hit .144 (21-for-201). In a three-year career, Ambruster was a .149 hitter (53-for-355) with 24 run (baseball), runs and 12 run batted in, RBI in 131 games. He batted and threw right-handed. Ambruster died in Grants Pass, Oregon at the age of 84. Armbrust (German: ''Crossbow'') is a lightweight unguided anti-tank weapon designed and developed by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm of Germany, who later sold its manufacturing rights to Chartered Industries of Singapore (the predecessor of ST Kinetics). Overview The Armbrust is a recoilless weapon, and is one of the few weapons of this kind that may safely be fired in an enclosed space. The propellant charge is placed between two pistons with the projectile in front of one and a mass of shredded plastic in the rear. Unlike most recoilless weapons, it is a true counter-shot weapon, as the mass of the projectile is equal to the mass of the counterweight and they are ejected from the barrel at the same initial velocity. When the weapon is fired, the propellant expands, pushing the two pistons out. The projectile is forced out of the front and the plastic out of the back. An ace is a playing card, die or domino with a single pip. In the standard French deck, an ace has a single suit symbol (a heart, diamond, spade, or club) located in the middle of the card, sometimes large and decorated, especially in the case of the ace of spades. This embellishment on the ace of spades started when King James VI of Scotland and I of England required an insignia of the printing house to be printed on the ace of spades. This insignia was necessary for identifying the printing house and stamping it as having paid the new stamp tax. Although this requirement was abolished in 1960, the tradition has been kept by many card makers. In other countries the stamp and embellishments are usually found on ace cards; clubs in France, diamonds in Russia, and hearts in Genoa because they have the most blank space. Jen Armbruster
Jennifer "Jen" Armbruster (born February 12, 1975 in Taipei) is an American goalball player. She was married to fellow teammate Asya Miller.Her wife is Jackie Bower whom she shares a son and 3 other children with. Armbruster began losing her vision at 14, but continued to play in her school's basketball team when the sight progressed to the point of being legally blind. She later lost her vision completely and therefore did not join the military like her father. Instead she found success in goalball and played at the 1992 Summer Paralympics and several Paralympic Games since. She has won a gold medal.
