Arli Liberman
Arli Liberman (born 1986) is an Israeli born New Zealand composer, guitarist and music producer. He plays in many genres and is especially known for his vibrant, immersive live performances and musical experiences for feature and television scores. His production process is uninhibited and collaborative, often working with directors during script development through to the early stages of post-production prior to final score itself. Career Arli began guitar at 13 years old and at 16 began working as a session guitarist with a variety of recording artists in Israel at which time he was discovered and then mentored by gold and platinum selling English record producer and bassist Mark Smulian. From the 2005 to 2009 Arli was a key member of the Whiteflag Project – one of the Middle East's first world fusion cross-over bands made up of Palestinian and Israeli musicians. The clarinet is a musical instrument in the woodwind family. The instrument has a nearly cylindrical bore and a flared bell, and uses a single reed to produce sound. Shalom Hanoch ( he, שלום חנוך) (born September 1, 1946) is an Israeli rock singer, lyricist and composer. He is considered to be the father of Israeli rock and modern Israeli music in general, both of which have been profoundly influenced by his work. Putumayo World Music is a New Orleans-based record label that specializes in compilations of world music, jazz and blues. History Dan Storper founded Putumayo in 1975 as a retail store in New York City featuring handicrafts from around the world. Storper took the name of his company, Putumayo, from Colombia's Putumayo River Valley where he travelled in 1974. ''Putumayo'' is said to mean a heron and "the place where the river begins" in the local indigenous language. He eventually opened 7 world handicraft and clothing boutiques across the northeastern United States. In 1991, on his way home from Bali, Storper stopped in San Francisco, California. In Golden Gate Park, he heard the Nigerian band Kotoja. He was impressed by the music and started compiling international music to play in his stores. Moshe "Mosh" Ben Ari ( he, מוש בן ארי; born 21 September 1970) is an Israeli musician, lyricist, and composer. Biography Ben Ari was born in Afula, Israel, to a family of Mizrahi Jewish background. He first discovered music as a child through the traditional Jewish and ethnic chants that were part of his everyday life. He started playing music at the age of 16 and has since studied music around the world, including in India, the Sahara, and the Sinai. He plays various string instruments including acoustic and classic guitar, Indian sarod, Persian tar, Turkish cümbüş, Moroccan sintir, and bass.
