Sanjay Awasthy
Sanjay Awasthy is an Indian politician and Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Arki in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly in India. Early life and education Awasthy was born on 7 October 1963 in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. He studied at Government Senior Secondary School, Navgaon. Later, he gained his Bachelor of Arts from Government College, Sanjauli, Shimla, and Master of Arts from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. Awasthy played cricket for Himachal Pradesh, including one first-class appearance in the Ranji Trophy in 1989–90. Political career Awasthy was elected as President of Block Congress committee Arki in 2009. He contested the 2012 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election from Arki constituency, but lost. 1998 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
Elections to the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly were held in 1998 to elect members of the 68 constituencies in Himachal Pradesh, India. The Indian National Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party won an equal number of seats, but the BJP managed to form the government by allying with the Himachal Vikas Congress, and Prem Kumar Dhumal was appointed as the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. Arki Fort
Arki palace is located in Arki, India, a town in Himachal Pradesh. The Arki palace was built between 1695 - 1700 by Rana Prithvi Singh, a descendant of Rana Sabha Chand. The Fort was captured by the Gurkhas in 1806. Rana Jagat Singh, the ruler of Baghal had to take refuge in Nalagarh. During this period from 1806 - 1815, the Gurkha General Amar Singh Thapa used Arki as his stronghold to make further advances into Himachal Pradesh as far as Kangra. 2022 Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly Election
Legislative Assembly elections were held in Himachal Pradesh on 12 November 2022 to elect 68 members of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. The result was a victory for the Indian National Congress, which returned to power after losing their majority in 2017, continuing a pattern of the incumbent party losing reelection in Himachal Pradesh since 1985. Virbhadra is a town in Dehradun district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, located close to the pilgrimage town of Rishikesh. Virbhadra Singh
Virbhadra Singh () (23 June 19348 July 2021) was an Indian politician who served 6 terms and 21 years as the 4th Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh. A leader of the Indian National Congress party, he was elected 9 times as a Member of Legislative Assembly to the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha and 5 times as Member of Parliament to the Lok Sabha. Virbhadra Singh was popularly known by the honorific Raja Sahib. Singh holds the distinction of being the longest serving Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, holding the office from 1983 to 1990, from 1993 to 1998, from 2003 to 2007 and finally from 2012 to 2017, when he was succeeded by the BJP's Jai Ram Thakur. The Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, 2017 was held on 9 November 2017 to elect all 68 members of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly.
