Arini (tribe)
The Arini tribe of the neotropical parrots is a monophyletic clade of macaws and parakeets (commonly called conures in aviculture) characterized by colorful plumage and long, tapering tails. They occur throughout Mexico, Central America, and South America, and formerly the Caribbean and North America. One genus and several species are extinct; another genus is extinct in the wild. Two species are known only through subfossil remains. About a dozen hypothetical extinct species (see Extinct Caribbean macaws) have been described, native to the Caribbean area. Among the Arini are some of the rarest birds in the world, such as Spix's macaw, which is extinct in the wild – fewer than 100 specimens survive in captivity. It also contains the largest flighted parrot in the world, the hyacinth macaw. Some species, such as the blue-and-yellow macaw and sun conure are popular pet parrots. Măieruș
Măieruș (german: Nußbach; hu, Szászmagyarós) is a commune in Brașov County, Transylvania, Romania. It is composed of two villages, Arini (''Lüget'') and Măieruș. The settlement was mentioned for the first time in 1377 as "villa nucum". Măieruș is located in the central part of Brașov County, north of the county seat, Brașov, on the border with Covasna County. It was considered to be the most northern commune in the historical Burzenland region, although Apața is nowadays the northern limit of the region. Măieruș borders the following communes: Apața to the north; Belin and Hăghig to the east and southeast; Feldioara to the south; and Comăna and Hoghiz to the west. The commune is crossed by national road . It lies on the left bank of the Olt River; the river Măieruș flows into the Olt in the village Măieruș. Elis (regional Unit)
Elis or Ilia ( el, Ηλεία, ''Ileia'') is a historic region in the western part of the Peloponnese peninsula of Greece. It is administered as a regional unit of the modern region of Western Greece. Its capital is Pyrgos. Until 2011 it was Elis Prefecture, covering the same territory. The modern regional unit is nearly coterminous with the ancient Elis of the classical period. Here lie the ancient ruins of cities of Elis, Epitalion and Olympia, known for the ancient Olympic Games which started in 776 BC. Geography The northernmost point of Elis is 38° 06'N, the westernmost is 22° 12′E, the southernmost is 37° 18′N, and the easternmost is 21° 54′E.
