Arif Şirin
Arif Şirin, commonly known as Ozan Arif ("Arif the Bard"; June 10, 1949 – February 13, 2019), was a Turkish lyricist, composer, singer, and bağlama performer, foremost known for his songs with lyrics propagating the Turkish nationalist cause. Life Şirin was born in his father's village Yükselen (Hapu) in Alucra district. By 1970, he had graduated from the Male Teacher's School in Ordu Province and worked as a primary school teacher in Samsun from 1970 to 1979. Following the 1980 Turkish coup d'état, he moved to Germany where he lived until his return to Turkey in 1991. Alucra
Alucra is a town and a district of Giresun Province in the Black Sea region of Turkey, from the city of Giresun. It was a district of Şebinkarahisar province between 1924-1933. Etymology Alucra is a modification of the Ottoman Empire name ''El Ücra'' meaning ''far-off' or ''remote''. Geography Alucra is an inland district, high in the Giresun Mountains, in the upper reaches of the Kelkit River. The weather on the Black Sea coast is typically wet and humid but Alucra is high inland therefore much cooler in winter, when it snows, and then dry and hot in summer. The snow melts in March and April and the spring rains last until June, during these months the rivers are full. The countryside is high mountain and pasture, with fir tree cover on the north-facing mountainsides and bare southern faces. Hrant Dink
Hrant Dink ( hy, Հրանդ Տինք; Western ; 15 September 1954 – 19 January 2007) was a Turkish-Armenian intellectual, editor-in-chief of ''Agos'', journalist and columnist. As editor-in-chief of the bilingual Turkish-Armenian newspaper ''Agos'', Dink was a prominent member of the Armenian minority in Turkey. Dink was best known for advocating Turkish–Armenian reconciliation and human and minority rights in Turkey; he was often critical of both Turkey's denial of the Armenian genocide, and of the Armenian diaspora's campaign for its international recognition. Dink was prosecuted three times for denigrating Turkishness, while receiving numerous death threats from Turkish nationalists. İsmail Türüt (born 8 June 1965) is a Turkish folk music artist from the Black Sea Region. "Plan Yapmayın Plan" controversy His 2007 album, Dünya Tatlısı, contains a song named ''Plans, don't make any plans'' ( tr, Plan Yapmayın Plan), which created a major controversy in Turkey. The lyrics take aim at Americans, Russians, Kurds, Christians, Armenians and the Turks who support them, telling them not to make plans against the Black Sea region of Turkey. The lyrics praise Alperen Hearths and Ozan Arif, the alleged killers of the Armenian-Turkish journalist Hrant Dink and end with "If a person betrays the country, he is finished off". Whereas the song does not name Ogün, Yasin and Hrant Dink explicitly, a video clip posted on YouTube shows images of Ogün, Yasin, and Hrant Dink throughout the song.
