Ariel Steinberg
Ariel Steinberg (born 26 August 1992 in Mildura, Victoria, Australia) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Essendon Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He made his senior debut against in round 21 of the 2014 season. AFL career Steinberg was selected by Essendon with the thirty-first pick in the 2010 AFL Draft in November 2010. Ariel was drafted from the Bendigo Pioneers in the TAC Cup having joined the Pioneers squad halfway through the 2010 season. He started playing for the Bendigo Bombers in their 2011 season. He kicked 3 goals against Frankston on 17 April 2011. He kicked 5 goals against the Box Hill Hawks on 19 June 2011. He kicked four goals against the Werribee Tigers on 7 August 2011. He kicked three goals against the Northern Bullants on 4 September 2011. He scored 25 goals in 2011. He was delisted in October 2015. The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team in the statewide Victorian under-18s league, the NAB League. Synopsis The Bendigo Pioneers is an Australian rules football team playing in NAB League since 1993 based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The idea behind the Bendigo Pioneers is to train its players and condition them for professional football. The team is divided into under-15s, under-16s, and under-18s. The Pioneers train at Epsom/Huntly Oval, Epsom, Victoria, Epsom. Their jersey colors are blue, white and yellow with blue, white and yellow socks and blue (home) or white (away) shorts. A punter (P) in gridiron football is a special teams player who receives the snapped ball directly from the line of scrimmage and then punts (kicks) the football to the opposing team so as to limit any field position advantage. This generally happens on a fourth down in American football and a third down in Canadian football. Punters may also occasionally take part in fake punts in those same situations, when they throw or run the football instead of punting. Skills and usage The purpose of the punt is to force the team that is receiving the kick to start as far as possible from the kicking team's end zone. The 2016 Victorian Football League season is the 135th season of the Victorian Football Association/Victorian Football League Australian rules football competition.
