The Ariel Award for Best Breakthrough Performance (Spanish: Premio Ariel a Mejor Revelación Actoral) is a recent award presented by the Academia Mexicana de Artes y Ciencias Cinematográficas (AMACC) in Mexico. It has been awarded since the 2019 edition, replacing Best Male and Best Female Breakthrough categories, It is awarded in honor of the acting performance by a breakout acting artist. Four actors have been the winners of the statuette, Benny Emmanuel was the first winner for his performance ''De la Infancia'' (2018). The current holder of the award is Adrián Ross for '' Summer White'' (2021). The Ariel Award ( es, Premio Ariel) is an award that recognizes the best of Mexican cinema. Given annually, since 1946, by the Mexican Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences (AMACC), the award recognizes artistical and technical excellence in the Mexican film industry. The purpose of the Ariel recognition is to stimulate and increase the excellence of Mexican cinema, favor the growth of the industry, and promote the meeting and strengthening of the national film community. It is regarded as the most prestigious award in the Mexican film industry and considered Mexico's equivalent to the Oscars of the United States.
