Ariano Mário Fernandes Fonsêca ( João Pessoa, April 28, 1963) is a Brazilian lawyer and politician, affiliated to the Brazilian Democratic Movement (MDB). Paraíba ( Tupi: ''pa'ra a'íba''; ) is a state of Brazil. João Pessoa (), a port city in northeastern Brazil, is the state of Paraíba's capital and largest city, with an estimated population of 817,511 (as of 2020). It is located on the right bank of the Paraíba do Norte river. The Brazilian Democratic Movement ( pt, Movimento Democrático Brasileiro, MDB) is a Brazilian political party. It is considered a " big tent party" and it is one of the parties with the greatest representation throughout the national territory, with the most numbers of senators, mayors and city councillors, always having formed a large plurality at the National Congress since 1988, and also has the largest number of affiliates, with 2,131,547 members as of 2022.
