Ariane Chebel D'Appollonia
Ariane Chebel d'Appollonia (born October 6, 1962) is a French-American ethicist, historian, and political scientist best known for her research on immigration and security studies. She is a professor at the School of Public Affairs and Administration (SPAA) and the Division of Global Affairs at Rutgers University - Newark. Biography Chebel d'Appollonia earned her PhD with highest distinction from the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris ( Sciences Po) in Paris, France in 1993. She also earned a Post-Master's Degree in Political Science (1985) and a Post-Master's Degree in Contemporary History (1986) from Sciences Po. She is married to British-American scholar Simon Reich, who teaches in the Division of Global Affairs at Rutgers University - Newark. Ethicist
An ethicist is one whose judgment on ethics and ethical codes has come to be trusted by a specific community, and (importantly) is expressed in some way that makes it possible for others to mimic or approximate that judgment. Following the advice of ethicists is one means of acquiring knowledge about what that ethicist says (see argument, argument from authority). The term jurist describes an ethicist whose judgment on law becomes part of a legal code, or otherwise has force of law. This may be due to formal (de jure) state sanction. Some jurists have less formal (de facto) backing by an ethical community, e.g. a religious community. In Islamic Law, for instance, such a community following (taqlid) a specific jurisprudence (fiqh) of shariah mimics judgment of a prior jurist. Catholic Canon Law has a similar structure. A historian is a person who studies and writes about the past and is regarded as an authority on it. Immigration
Immigration is the international movement of people to a destination country of which they are not natives or where they do not possess citizenship in order to settle as permanent residents or naturalized citizens. Commuters, tourists, and other short-term stays in a destination country do not fall under the definition of immigration or migration; seasonal labour immigration is sometimes included, however. As for economic effects, research suggests that migration is beneficial both to the receiving and sending countries. Rutgers University–Newark is one of three regional campuses of Rutgers University, New Jersey's State University. It is located in Newark. Simon Reich is a scholar best known for his work in international relations, human security, and grand strategy. He is a professor in the Division of Global Affairs at Rutgers University - Newark in Newark, New Jersey. Career Reich is author, co-author, and editor of thirteen books. William Karel
William Karel (born 1940) is a French film director and author. He is known for his historical and political documentaries. Biography Karel was born in Bizerte in French Tunisia. After studying in Paris, he emigrated to Israel where he lived for about 10 years in a kibbutz. Returning to France in 1981, he turned to photography and worked for more than ten years as a photo-reporter for several agencies like Gamma (1972–1976) and Sygma (1976–1983). Then he started to direct movies.
