Argentona
Argentona is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of the Maresme in Catalonia, Spain. It is situated on the south-east side of the granite Litoral range, to the north-west of Mataró. The town is both a tourist centre and a notable horticultural centre. A local road links the municipality with Cabrera de Mar and with the main N-II road at Vilassar de Mar. The town centre has buildings in a wide range of styles. The late gothic church of Sant Julià was restored by Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The same architect designed ''Casa Gari'', a private residence adjoining the chapel of Sant Miquel del Cros, a work in the style of Antoni Gaudí by Lluís Bonet (1929). There are several buildings from the 16th to the 17th centuries, as well as the Roman chapel of ''La Mare de Déu del Viver'' and the benedictine priory of Sant Pere de Clarà. Josep Puig I Cadafalch
Josep Puig i Cadafalch (; Mataró, 17 October 1867 – Barcelona, 21 December 1956) was a Catalan '' Modernista'' architect who designed many significant buildings in Barcelona, and a politician who had a significant role in the development of Catalan institutions. He was the architect of the Casa Martí (also known as " Els Quatre Gats"), which became a place of ideas, projects and social gatherings for such well-known Catalans as Santiago Rusiñol and Ramon Casas. Although Puig's style separated him significantly from his contemporary Gaudí, their relations were neither tense nor problematic, as demonstrated by the participation of both architects in the construction of the Cafe Torino. Another of his significant buildings was the Casa Terrades (also known as "les Punxes"), which is known for its medieval castle style from the north of Europe. Puig was actively involved in politics. He was a Barcelona City Councillor from 1901 to 1903, served in the Spanish Parliament fro ...

Argentona Water Jug Museum
The Argentona Water Jug Museum ( ca, Museu del Càntir d'Argentona), founded in 1975, is located in a building which opened on 20 July 2000. The origins of the museum can be found in the Water Jug Festival, which is celebrated on 4 August every year since 1951, upholding a traditional celebration dating back to the 17th century, brought about by a ‘vow of the town' to Saint Dominic, patron saint of water, to protect Argentona from a grave pestilence. Every year, coinciding with the Water Jug Festival, the Water Jug Museum organises the International Ceramic and Pottery Festival, the dates of which vary according to the day on which 4 August falls, in order to disseminate and promote the conservation of traditional pottery and the new values of the ceramics being produced. Exhibition The collection includes more than 3,000 water vessels. The permanent exhibition introduces us to the world of these water vessels and the history, typology and process of water jug making. Dosrius
Dosrius is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Maresme in Catalonia, Spain, located in the interior of the comarca on the border with the Eastern Valleys, and is at the head of the Argentona Riera. The original name, first recorded in 963, is "Duos Rios". This literally means "Two Rivers" and refers to the 2 rivers that join to form the Argentona Riera, and is reflected in the coat of arms. These rivers are rarely flowing, though quickly fill during wet weather causing disruption in the village owing to the narrow streets being one way. Newer housing and the school are on the other side of the river, and egress from housing further up the valley frequently takes this route owing to the poor condition of the newly built "Ronda de Dalt" (Upper Bypass). A bridge has been built that would alleviate this problem, though this still hasn't been opened due to the currently suspended construction work that is part of the same development. It is unknown when the bridge will be open to tra ...

Maresme
Maresme () is a ''comarca'' (county) located along the Catalan Mediterranean coast in Spain, between the ''comarques'' of Barcelonès (at the Southwest) and Selva (at the Northeast), and also bordering with Vallès Oriental (at the west). Its capital and largest city is Mataró (pop. 119,035 in 2007). Geography Maresme occupies a long and narrow area between the Mediterranean Sea and the hills of Serralada Litoral (Catalonia's coastal mountains), and specifically Montnegre's and 's hills in the northern half and Sant Mateu's hills in the southern half. This particular shape has conditioned both the geography and the history of this ''comarca''. Probably the main distinct elements of its geography are the characteristic ''rieres'' (torrents). These short, intermittent streams, which cross the ''comarca'' transversally about every hundred meters, produce powerful and dangerous floods when it rains. Maresme has been historically very well connected with the rest of the ''comarc ...

Municipalities Of Catalonia
Catalonia is (as of 2018) divided into 947 Municipalities of Spain, municipalities. Each municipality typically represents one significant urban settlement, of any size from village to city, with its surrounding land. This is not always the case, though. Many municipalities have merged as a result of rural depopulation or simply for greater efficiency. Some large urban areas, for example Barcelona, consist of more than one municipality, each of which previously held a separate settlement. The Catalan government encourages mergers of very small municipalities; its "Report on the revision of Catalonia's territorial organisation model" (the ""), published in 2000 but not yet implemented, recommends many such mergers. Larger municipalities may sometimes grant the status of ''minor local entity, decentralised municipal entity'' ( ca, EMD, es, EATIM) to one or more of its settlements, for more effective provision of services or to substitute for its previous status as a separate mun ...

Roman (architecture)
Romanesque architecture is an architectural style of medieval Europe characterized by semi-circular arches. There is no consensus for the beginning date of the Romanesque style, with proposals ranging from the 6th to the 11th century, this later date being the most commonly held. In the 12th century it developed into the Gothic style, marked by pointed arches. Examples of Romanesque architecture can be found across the continent, making it the first pan-European architectural style since Imperial Roman architecture. The Romanesque style in England and Sicily is traditionally referred to as Norman architecture. Combining features of ancient Roman and Byzantine buildings and other local traditions, Romanesque architecture is known by its massive quality, thick walls, round arches, sturdy pillars, barrel vaults, large towers and decorative arcading. Each building has clearly defined forms, frequently of very regular, symmetrical plan; the overall appearance is one of simplicity ...
