''Argentinísima II'' is a 1973 Argentine musical documentary film directed and written by Fernando Ayala and Héctor Olivera. It is the sequel to the 1972 Argentinísima. The film premiered on 21 June 1973 in Buenos Aires. Fernando Ayala
Fernando Ayala (2 July 1920 – 11 September 1997) was an Argentine film director, screenwriter and film producer of the classic era. He is widely considered one of the most important Argentine film directors and producers in the history of the cinema of Argentina. Ayala initially began as a trainee assistant director in 1942, in '' El Viaje'', and within two years he had become an assistant director. By 1949 he had obtained his first job as director, and from 1958 he also served as producer for the films he directed and some others. Between 1950 and 1987 he was involved in the direction and production of well over 40 films, such as '' Ayer fue primavera'' in 1955 and ''Argentinísima'' and '' Argentinísima II'' in 1972 and 1973 respectively. In 1963 he was a member of the jury at the 13th Berlin International Film Festival. Carlos Torres Vila (musician)
Carlos Torres Vila (9 November 1946 in Los Toldos, Buenos Aires – 16 July 2010 in San Miguel, Buenos Aires) was an Argentinian folk singer. He was revelation in the festival of Baradero in 1969 and the Cosquín Festival in 1970. He was one of the firsts solo to introduce the so-called "Romantic Folk", mix of traditional Argentine music and melodic songs. Under this slope, he broke several sales records in the 1970s. In 1977 he decided to dedicate only to the melodic music. His discs ''Consagración'', ''Que romántico'' and ''Me vas a echar de menos'' are the proof. In 1982 his LP ''El retorno de Carlos Torres Vila'' marks his return to his style, that he never left. Tango Films
Tango is a partner dance and social dance that originated in the 1880s along the Río de la Plata, the natural border between Argentina and Uruguay. The tango was born in the impoverished port areas of these countries as the result of a combination of Rioplatense Candombe celebrations, Spanish-Cuban Habanera, and Argentine Milonga. The tango was frequently practiced in the brothels and bars of ports, where business owners employed bands to entertain their patrons. The tango then spread to the rest of the world.
