Argentina Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Argentina national field hockey team, ( es, Selección masculina de hockey sobre césped de Argentina, links=no) represents Argentina in field hockey and is governed by the Argentine Hockey Confederation (CAH). The current coach is Mariano Ronconi, who was appointed after Germán Orozco was let go in 2020. The team is currently sixth in the FIH World Rankings. ''Los Leones (The Lions)'' are the only team of the Americas to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games. They achieved this after defeating Belgium 4–2 in the final at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Argentina's Olympic gold-winning coach is Carlos Retegui. The Argentine Hockey Confederation ( es, Confederación Argentina de Hockey) is the official governing body of field hockey in Argentina. It governs the men's and the women's national teams and club competitions "Liga Nacional de Hockey" (LNH) and "Argentino de Clubes". Other local competitions, such as the Women's and Men's Torneo Metropolitano are regulated by the Buenos Aires Hockey Association (AHBA). 2022 Men's Pan American Cup
The 2022 Men's Pan American Cup was the sixth edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of the Americas organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. It was planned to be held alongside the women's tournament from 7 to 22 August 2021 in Tacarigua, Trinidad and Tobago. However, following the postponement of the 2020 Summer Olympics to July and August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic the tournament was rescheduled and on 4 September 2020 the hosts Trinidad and Tobago withdrew from hosting the tournament. In November 2020, Pan American Hockey Federation announced that the cup was going to be held from 20 to 30 January 2022 in Santiago, Chile. Argentina were the defending champions, winning the 2017 edition. They defended their title as they won the tournament for the fourth time by defeating the hosts Chile 5–1 in the final. The 2004 Men's Pan American Cup was the second edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial men's international field hockey championship of the Americas organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The 2000 Men's Pan American Cup was the first edition of the Men's Pan American Cup, the quadrennial men's international field hockey championship of the Americas organized by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The Men's Pan American Cup is a men's international field hockey competition organised by the Pan American Hockey Federation. The men's field hockey tournament at the 2015 Pan American Games was held in Toronto, Canada at the Pan Am / Parapan Am Fields from July 14 to 25. For these Games, the men competed in an 8-team tournament. The teams were grouped into two pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round.
