''Arena Hash'' is the first studio album by Peruvian rock band Arena Hash, released in 1988. This was the first of two studio albums released by the band before they disbanded after Pedro Suárez-Vértiz decided to go solo. Six songs where released as singles in order to promote the album. Critical reception The album was well received in Perú having several hits on the radio. It received a 3 star rating on ''Rate Your Music''. Singles ''Kangrejo (Sacudía)'' was released in 1987 as the first single of the album. The song had success in Perú where it became a hit even though it didn't reach number one. ''Cuando La Cama Me Da Vueltas'' was released in 1988 as the album's second single. The song became a huge hit in Perú topping the airplay list on several radio stations as soon as it was released becoming the band's first number one hit. Pedro Suárez-Vértiz Alva (born February 13, 1969) is a Peruvian singer-songwriter, and guitarist. He founded the popular rock band Arena Hash with his brother Patricio, Arturo Pomar and Christian Meier in 1987; a few years later, the band broke up and Vértiz began his solo career. He is the winner of Orgullosamente Latino 2004 (Proudly Latin 2004) and winner of the Best Latin Soloist of the Year in Mexico. He is well known for his multitudinous concerts, his vocal rhythm, his extensive guitar collection, his abstinence from alcohol and tobacco, his philanthropy and his personality. Christian Dietrich Meier Zender (born June 23, 1970), best known as Christian Meier, is a Peruvian actor and singer in Latin America, the US Hispanic market, and around the Spanish speaking world. Biography Meier was born in Lima, Peru, the youngest of four siblings. He is the son of Gladys Zender, Miss Universe 1957, and Antonio Meier, a Peruvian politician who in 2006 was elected mayor of the Lima district of San Isidro.
