Area code 409 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the U.S. state of Texas. The numbering plan area comprises the Beaumont and Galveston areas. It was created on March 19, 1983, in an area code split of area code 713, the first since 619 split from 714 four months earlier. Initially, it consisted of a horseshoe-shaped area that almost completely surrounded Houston, but in 2000 it was divided into three sections. Area code 409 was retained by the eastern segment, while the central portion, centered on Nacogdoches, received area code 936 and the western portion centered on Bryan– College Station, was assigned area code 979. Bronson is an unincorporated area, unincorporated community in west central Sabine County, Texas, Sabine County, Texas, United States. It is located on U.S. Highway 96 (Texas), U.S. Highway 96 at the junction of Texas State Highway 184, State Highway 184, nine miles west of Hemphill, Texas, Hemphill. Bridge City, Texas
Bridge City is a city in Orange County, Texas, United States. It is 100 miles east of Houston, near the Gulf of Mexico. The population was 9,546 at the 2020 Census. The town borders the Neches River and Cow Bayou. It is part of the Beaumont– Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area is mostly known for its association with the petroleum products (oil) industry. History The city was originally named Prairie View, as it was located on the coastal grasslands of the upper Texas coastline. Bon Wier ( ) is an unincorporated community in eastern Newton County, Texas, United States, and is located along U.S. Route 190. The ZIP Code for Bon Wier is 75928. Historical development Established in 1905, the town was a stop on the ''Jasper and Eastern Railroad'' which was primarily a line servicing the lumber industry. The town's name was derived from the last name of two key men who were associated with the Kirby Lumber Company, owned by John Henry Kirby. B. F. Bonner was the sawmill manager, and Robert Withrow Wier was the town surgeon. The town was established to take advantage of the timber of the region as part of the company expansion. A post office opened for the town in 1906. Logging camps would operate in the vicinity intermittently from 1918 until 1935. Bevil Oaks is a city in Jefferson County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,274 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Beaumont– Port Arthur Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Bevil Oaks is located along the northern edge of Jefferson County at (30.151695, –94.268336). It is bordered to the north and west by Pine Island Bayou, which forms the Hardin County line.
