Ardán
''Ardán'' is a weekly Irish language chat show produced by RTÉ for TG4. It is presented by Páidí Ó Lionáird and is broadcast on Sundays at 20:30. Overview ''Ardán'' (pronounced ''/'ɔrdɔ:n/'', and meaning "platform") has been on the TG4 (Irish Language Public Sector Broadcaster) schedule since 2000. Formerly a live studio show, the show is now pre-recorded; thus allowing for English subtitling and possibly extending the broadcaster's target audience. Hosts Although first presented by entrepreneur Páraic Ó Céide (of Aer Arann, Foinse and Clódóirí Lurgan), his successor after just 13 episodes in 2000 has been Páidí Ó Lionáird. Páidí Ó Lionáird
Páidí Ó Lionáird (born 17 August 1968) is an Irish television presenter and columnist from Cúil Aodha, County Cork. Since 1997, Ó Lionáird has been the presenter of current affairs and entertainment shows on the Irish language channel TG4. His older brother is Iarla Ó Lionáird, a singer and producer. His other brothers include Seán, judge on TG4's ''Feirm Factor'', and Peadar, co-owner of Folláin, which is a jam and chutney manufacturer. Early life Páidí Ó Lionáird was born in Gort na Scairte, Baile Bhúirne in the Gaeltacht (Irish-speaking area of County Cork) Cúil Aodha, part of the Muskerry Gaeltacht in County Cork. Irish ( Standard Irish: ), also known as Gaelic, is a Goidelic language of the Insular Celtic branch of the Celtic language family, which is a part of the Indo-European language family. Stobart Air, legally incorporated as ''Stobart Air Unlimited Company'', was an Irish regional airline headquartered in Dublin. It operated scheduled services under the brands Aer Lingus Regional, BA CityFlyer and KLM Cityhopper on behalf of their respective owners. ''Foinse'' (; Irish for "''Source''") was an Irish-language newspaper in Ireland. It was first published October 1996 and had both print and online editions until September 2013 when its publisher, Móinéar Teo, announced that it would become online only from that month. The ''Foinse'' website continued to be active until 2015 when it was shut down. History ''Foinse'' was first published in October 1996 as a weekly Saturday newspaper. It was published in Carraroe, County Galway and printed in Tralee, County Kerry. The newspaper closed temporarily in June 2009 because of falling revenue.
