James MacArdell
James MacArdell (1729?–1765) was an Irish mezzotinter. Life He was born in Cow Lane (later Greek Street), Dublin, around 1729. He learnt mezzotint-engraving from John Brooks. When Brooks moved to London in 1746, MacArdell and other pupils followed him. He opened a print shop at the Golden Head in Covent Garden, where in 1753 he published six views of Dublin. MacArdell died on 2 June 1765, in his fifty-seventh year, and was buried in the churchyard at Hampstead, where a stone bore an inscription to his memory. Works His earliest work appears to be a head of Archbishop Hugh Boulter in an engraving, altered from one by Brooks of Bishop Robert Howard. A head of Dr. Birch is stated to have been done by MacArdell in London. A portrait of Bishop Thomas Secker, engraved by MacArdell, was published in London in 1767, and also a humorous plate, entitled 'Teague's Ramble.' Daniel Miers Ardell (born May 27, 1941) is a retired American professional baseball player. A first baseman, he was one of the first amateur players signed by the expansion Los Angeles Angels in the Angels' maiden season, . Ardell spent most of that year in the lower minors, but was recalled for a seven-game Major League trial in September. Ardell F. Brede (born June 23, 1939) is an American politician who served as mayor of Rochester, Minnesota. Born in Austin, Minnesota, Brede has lived in Rochester for 43 years. Brede was the mayor of Rochester from January 6, 2003 until January 7, 2019. He was preceded by Chuck Canfield. On November 6, 2018, Kim Norton was elected as his successor. Before he was elected, he worked as an administrator for the Mayo Clinic. Biography Ardell Brede became Mayor of Rochester Minnesota on January 6, 2003. Shirley Ardell Mason
Shirley Ardell Mason (January 25, 1923 – February 26, 1998) was an American art teacher who was reputed to have dissociative identity disorder (previously known as ''multiple personality disorder''). Her life was purportedly described, with adaptations to protect her anonymity, in 1973 in the book ''Sybil'', subtitled ''The True Story of a Woman Possessed by 16 Separate Personalities''. Two films of the same name were made, one released in 1976 and the other in 2007. Both the book and the films used the name Sybil Isabel Dorsett to protect Mason's identity, though the 2007 remake stated Mason's name at its conclusion. Mason's diagnosis and treatment under Cornelia B. Wilbur have been criticized, with allegations that Wilbur manipulated or misdiagnosed Mason.
