Ardabil Province Parliamentary Districts
Ardabil (, fa, اردبیل, Ardabīl or ''Ardebīl'') is a city in northwestern Iran, and the capital of Ardabil Province. As of the 2022 census, Ardabil's population was 588,000. The dominant majority in the city are ethnic Iranian Azerbaijanis and the primary language of the people is Azerbaijani. Ardabil is known for its trade in silk and carpets. Ardabil rugs are renowned and the ancient Ardabil carpets are considered among the best of classical Persian carpets. Ardabil is also home to a World Heritage Site, the Ardabil Shrine, the sanctuary and tomb of Shaikh Safî ad-Dîn, eponymous founder of the Safavid dynasty. Ayatollah Fakhraddin Mousavi Naneh Karani ( fa, فخرالدین موسوی ننهکرانی; 1930 – 18 September 2021) was an Iranian judge and politician. Mousavi was born in Ardabil. He was a member of the first, third and fifth Islamic Consultative Assembly from the electorate of Ardabil, Nir, Namin and Sareyn. 2000 Iranian Legislative Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Iran on 18 February 2000, with a second round on 5 May. The result was a solid victory for 2nd of Khordad Front and its allies, the reformist supporters of President Mohammad Khatami.
