Archibald Harris
Archibald John Harris (22 December 1892 – 10 April 1955) was an English cricketer. Harris was a right-handed batsman born in Rugby, Warwickshire. Harris made a single first-class appearance for Warwickshire against Worcestershire in 1919 at New Road, Worcester. Worcestershire won the toss and elected to bat first, making 187 all out. In response, Warwickshire were dismissed in their first-innings for 145, with Harris dismissed for 4 runs by William Taylor. Worcestershire then made 102/7 declared in their second-innings, leaving Warwickshire with a target of 145 for victory. Harris opened the innings in Warwickshire's chase alongside Frederick Santall, scoring 14 runs before he was dismissed by Robert Burrows. Warwickshire reached their target for the loss of two wickets. This was his only major appearance for the county. Harris died at Lymington, Hampshire, on 10 April 1955. Robert Burrows (cricketer)
Robert Dixon Burrows (6 June 1871 – 12 February 1943) was a first-class cricketer who played for Worcestershire County Cricket Club between 1899 and 1919, he also umpired one test match and set a world record in 1911 when he sent a bail spinning 67 yards and 6 inches when he bowled Huddleston at Old Trafford. He bowled right arm fast medium and was a more than handy right-handed batsman. He took 96 wickets in 1901 and exactly 100 wickets in 1910, at 23.46 and 1913 at 21.41, leading his county's attack for some years. Burrows scored 112 against Gloucestershire County Cricket Club at Worcester in 1907 and averaged 25.28, but his bowling fell to 57 wickets at 24 runs apiece, as Arnold and Cuffe came to the fore. He recorded his second first-class century, 107* again against Gloucestershire, at Worcester in July 1914, when he batted number ten. Frederick Santall
Frederick Reginald Santall (12 July 1903 – 3 November 1950) was an English cricketer. He was a right-hand batsman and right-arm medium pace bowler who played for Warwickshire. Born in Acocks Green, Birmingham, Santall was a regular on the Warwickshire teamsheet during the inter-war period. Between 1919 and 1939 he played 496 first-class matches for his home county, only Willie Quaife and Dennis Amiss have represented Warwickshire more often. Outside of county cricket he made four other first-class appearances, three came on Sir Theodore Brinckman's XI tour of Argentina in 1937–38 and one was for Sir Lindsay Parkinson's XI against the West Indies tourists of 1933, he scored 45 and 47 not out in a low-scoring match. In the sport of cricket, a declaration occurs when a captain declares his team's innings closed and a forfeiture occurs when a captain chooses to forfeit an innings without batting. Declaration and forfeiture are covered in Law 15 of the ''Laws of Cricket''. This concept applies only to matches in which each team is scheduled to bat in two innings; Law 15 specifically does not apply in any form of limited overs cricket. William Taylor (Worcestershire Cricketer)
William Herbert Taylor (23 June 1885 – 27 May 1959) was an English first-class cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and right-arm fast-medium bowler who played 107 times for Worcestershire between 1909 and 1925, captaining the county in 1914, 1919 and 1922. He also made three first-class appearances for HK Foster's XI. Born in Sale, Cheshire, Taylor made his debut in Worcestershire's County Championship game against Kent on 14 June 1909, making 19 and 0. He did not bowl in that game; his first wicket was that of Harry Altham in Worcestershire's next game, against Oxford University.
