Archery at the 1983 Pan American Games was held in August 1993. The events took place at a temporary site in Caracas, Venezuela. Just like in the Olympics, the archery competition will be held using the recurve bow.Archery technical manual

Archery competitions at the 1979 Pan American Games in San Juan were held from July 2 to 6 at the Archery Range in the University of Puerto Rico. Archery At The 1984 Summer Olympics
Archery at the 1984 Summer Olympics was contested in the format used since 1972. There were two events: men's individual and women's individual. Points were in a format called the double FITA round, which included 288 arrows shot over four days at four different distances: 70 meters, 60 meters, 50 meters, 30 meters for women; 90 meters, 70 meters, 50 meters, 30 meters for men. It was the fourth, and last, time that the format was used in Olympic competition. Neroli Fairhall from New Zealand, who came 35th in the Women's individual event, was the first paraplegic athlete to compete at the Olympic Games. Aurora Bretón
Gonzala Aurora Bretón Gómez (10 January 1950 – 27 May 2014) was a Mexican archer who represented her country in four Olympic Games (1972, 1984, 1988 and 1992); won two silver and five bronze medals in Pan American Games and eight gold and two silver medals in Central American and Caribbean Games. After retiring from international competitions, she worked as Olympic coach, briefly served as sports commentator for a television network during the 2012 Summer Olympics and, controversially, chaired the Mexican Archery Federation, where she was forced to resign after being charged with visa fraud by the United States government and accused of sexual harassment by the family of an underage female athlete. Linda Kazienko
Linda Kazienko (born 29 May 1955 in Grimsby) is a former Canadian archer. University Kazienko attended the University of Guelph from 1974 to 1978 and graduated with a MSc in animal and poultry science. She was a member of the university archery team. Later she entered the DVM program. Archery Kazienko won a silver medal in the women's team recurve at the 1979 Pan American Games. Ruth E. Rowe (born March 11, 1947, in Pittsburgh) is an American former archer and has also coached the sport. Archery Rowe took up archery at the University of Pittsburgh where she earned a degree in biology. Rowe won a bronze medal at the 1975 World Archery Championships, a gold medal at the 1977 World Archery Championships and another bronze at the 1983 World Archery Championships.
