''Arch Stanton'' is the sixth studio album by the instrumental stoner rock band Karma to Burn. It was released on August 18, 2014 by FABA and Deepdive Records. The album will be reissued in 2023 by Heavy Psych Sounds Records. Unlike their previous release '' V'', this album returns to their exclusively instrumental roots, although the final track features dialogue snippets from the classic Spaghetti Western ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly'', from which the album title is derived. Karma To Burn
Karma to Burn, commonly abbreviated as K2B, is a Palm Desert Scene, desert rock/stoner rock band from Morgantown, West Virginia. The band are noted for their uncompromising, mostly instrumental sound. Their name comes from a sleevenote on Bob Dylan's 1976 album ''Desire (Bob Dylan album), Desire'' which reads "I have a brother or two and a whole lot of karma to burn..." History First era (1993–2002) After years of viral self-promotion (such as phoning record companies pretending to be other bands who had heard an interesting band called Karma to Burn), Karma to Burn was signed to Roadrunner Records in 1996. Stoner Rock
Stoner rock, also known as stoner metal or stoner doom, is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of doom metal with psychedelic rock and acid rock. The genre emerged during the early 1990s and was pioneered foremost by Kyuss and Sleep. Characteristics Stoner rock is typically slow-to-mid tempo and features a heavily distorted, groove-laden bass-heavy sound, melodic vocals, and "retro" production. Due to the similarities between stoner and sludge metal, there is often a crossover between the two genres. This hybrid has traits of both styles, but generally lacks stoner metal's laid back atmosphere and its usage of psychedelia. ''V'' is the fifth studio album by the instrumental rock, instrumental stoner rock band Karma to Burn. It was released on May 27, 2011, via Napalm Records. The album was later reissued in 2022 by Heavy Psych Sounds Records. Unlike their previous releases since ''Karma to Burn (Karma to Burn album), Karma to Burn'', this is not an instrumental album. Only five tracks are instrumental; the other three feature vocals from Year Long Disaster frontman Daniel Davies (musician), Daniel Davies, who had joined the group but left prior to the album's release. ''Mountain Czar'' is an EP by the instrumental stoner rock band Karma to Burn. It was released in 2016 by SPV and Rodeostar Records. Unlike their previous release ''Arch Stanton'', ''Mountain Czar'' is not exclusively instrumental, with one track featuring Italian vocalist Stefanie Savy. The song, "Uccidendo Un Sogno," is an Italian-language rewrite of the Tom Petty classic Runnin' Down a Dream. Like the previous album's closing track "Fifty-Nine," this EP's ending track "Sixty-Three" contains a dialogue passage from the classic Spaghetti Western ''The Good, the Bad and the Ugly''. Spaghetti Western
The Spaghetti Western is a broad subgenre of Western films produced in Europe. It emerged in the mid-1960s in the wake of Sergio Leone's film-making style and international box-office success. The term was used by foreign critics because most of these Westerns were produced and directed by Italians. Leone's films and other core Spaghetti Westerns are often described as having eschewed, criticized, or even "demythologized" many of the conventions of traditional U.S. Westerns.
