Arcana (film)
''Arcana'' is a 1972 Italian horror-drama film written and directed by Giulio Questi. Plot In a neighborhood in Milan, Ms. Tarantino, a widow, lives with her son and dedicates herself to practices of spiritualism. Convinced that his mother knows the true secrets of magic and not just some tricks, the son forces her to reveal them. He will use them against a young girl to be married, Marisa, and he will also spread panic in the neighbourhood, causing accidents of all kinds. Giulio Questi (18 March 1924 – 3 December 2014) was an Italian film director and screenwriter.Marco Giusti, Dizionario dei film italiani stracult, Roma, Frassinelli, 2004. Questi was born in Bergamo. He wrote short stories and filmed several documentaries before he started as assistant director and script writer in the movie business. Franco "Kim" Arcalli (13 March 1929 – 24 February 1978) was an Italian film editor and screenwriter best known for his work with Bernardo Bertolucci and Michelangelo Antonioni. Life and career Born in Rome by a Venetian family, his last name was Orcalli, but he was wrongly recorded as Arcalli by the officer of the Registry, and the error was never corrected. At fifteen, after the death of his father killed by the fascists, Arcalli moved to Venice where he collaborated with the partisans.
