Arcadia High School (Arizona)
Arcadia High School is a public high school in Phoenix, Arizona. The school enrolls 1,680 students, who mostly come from feeder schools in the Scottsdale Unified School District. History The school was built 1958/59. It was designed by local architect Mel Ensign and built by Gilbert & Dolan Construction Co. The campus was noted for its round buildings and futuristic space age design. Between 2005 and 2008 much of the original campus was demolished and a new campus was built in its place. The new campus was designed by Orcutt/Winslow Partnership and built by DL Withers Construction Co. The circular library is the only original building that remains. Gabriel O. Suárez (born December 14, 1984) is a professional baseball Manager and former owner of the San Rafael Pacifics. Playing career Suárez was originally drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 33rd round of the 2003 MLB Draft out of Arcadia High School in Phoenix, Arizona but did not sign. He was again drafted by the Expos in the 26th round of the 2004 MLB Draft after playing with South Mountain Community College. After playing parts of two seasons with the Expos/Nationals Gulf Coast League team, he was released and finished out the 2005 season with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the Northern League. He signed a minor league contract with the Colorado Rockies in 2006 and then with the Cincinnati Reds in 2007, but did not get past Class-A. William Shepherd
William McMichael "Bill" Shepherd (born July 26, 1949), (Capt, USN, Ret.), is an American former Navy SEAL, aerospace, ocean, and mechanical engineer, and NASA astronaut, who served as Commander of Expedition 1, the first crew on the International Space Station.
