Arcadia Football Clubs Association
The Arcadia Football Clubs Association (''Ένωση Ποδοσφαιρικών Σωματείων Αρκαδίας'' = ''Enosi Podosfairikon Somateion Arkadias'') is a football (soccer) organization in Arcadia that is part of the Greek Football Federation. Its headquarters is located in the subregional capital city of Tripoli and the organization has about 50 clubs. Basic organizations of the union is local soccer championships into three divisions and the Arcadia Cup, in which teams from local divisions, and body-member of clubs playing in the higher divisions. The winner of the first division used to head to the National Fourth Division. As of 2012–13, the winner of the first division plays vs. three other prefectures in a 6-game home and away playoff with the winner of that after-season tournament advancing to Football League 2 (Greece). Arcadia ( el, Αρκαδία, ''Arkadía'' ) is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the administrative region of Peloponnese. It is in the central and eastern part of the Peloponnese peninsula. It takes its name from the mythological figure Arcas. In Greek mythology, it was the home of the god Pan. Dimitsana
Dimitsana ( el, Δημητσάνα) is a mountain village and a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Gortynia, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 110.759 km2. Dimitsana is built on the ruins of the ancient town Teuthis. The population of the village is 342 (2011 census), while it was 611 in 2001. It has been registered as a traditional settlement. Dimitsana is built on a mountain slope at an elevation of 950 meters. From its southern side a marvelous view of Megalopolis plain and Taygetus is provided. The Gamma Ethniki ( el, Γ΄ Εθνική Ερασιτεχνική Κατηγορία, C National Amateur Division) is the third highest football league in Greece. History The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into ''North'' and ''South'' groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed ''Football League 2''. Levidi ( el, Λεβίδι) is a small town and a former municipality in Arcadia, Peloponnese, Greece. Doxa Megalopoli ("Glory") (Greek: Α.Ο. Δόξα Μεγαλόπολης ''A.O. Doxa Megalopoli'') is a Greek football (soccer) club in Megalopoli in Arcadia. The club was created in 1956 and is one of the oldest club in the city. The team won 8 titles and 8 cups in Arcadia FCA and played for several seasons in the national Third and Fourth Division.
