Arcade (song)
"Arcade" is a song by Dutch singer-songwriter Duncan Laurence. The song was released on 7 March 2019 by Spark Records. It was later included as the lead single on his debut studio album '' Small Town Boy'', and also features on his debut EP '' Worlds on Fire''. The song was written by Laurence, Joel Sjöö, Wouter Hardy and Will Knox. "Arcade" represented the in the Eurovision Song Contest 2019 in Tel Aviv, Israel, which it won, marking the Netherlands' first Eurovision victory since 1975. After the complete line-up of songs was announced, "Arcade" was the bookmakers' favourite to win Eurovision, and had remained so until the contest ended. ''Small Town Boy'' is the debut studio album by Dutch singer Duncan Laurence. It was released on 13 November 2020 by Spark Records. The album includes the singles "Arcade", " Love Don't Hate It", " Someone Else", "Last Night" and " Feel Something". A deluxe edition of the album was released on 21 May 2021, containing three additional tracks: "Stars", "Sad Old Me" and "I Got You". Background He wrote the album with the help of his boyfriend Jordan Garfield. He said, "We really got to know each other way better through writing music too because you share stories together in a whole different way and you go really deep into those stories and maybe sometimes you get to express emotions that you wouldn't normally express if it's not in writing a song." Alessandro Mahmoud (, ; born 12 September 1992), known professionally as Mahmood, is an Italian singer-songwriter. He rose to prominence after competing on the sixth season of the Italian version of ''The X Factor''. The Common Linnets
The Common Linnets are a Dutch band that was formed in 2013. The band originally consisted of friends Ilse DeLange and Waylon. DeLange has stated that the group is a platform for Dutch artists to make country, Americana, and bluegrass music, and that the members will be changing. In May 2014, Waylon left the group and was replaced by American country singer Jake Etheridge. Their song "Calm After the Storm", which is on their self-titled debut album, reached second place in the final of the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest and gave the Netherlands their best result since their last winning entry in 1975. The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 was the 59th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. Ilse Annoeska de Lange (born 13 May 1977), better known as Ilse DeLange, is a Dutch country and pop rock singer-songwriter.
