Arbroath High School
Arbroath High School is a six-year, all-through comprehensive school situated on the west side of Arbroath, Angus, Scotland. It moved into its present building in 1985. Accommodation The new building was opened in 1985 to serve the west side of Arbroath and outlying areas, such as the villages of Arbirlot, Carmyllie and Colliston. The school was built in a residential area not far from the town centre. As well as the facilities normally associated with schools, it has priority use during the day of Arbroath Sports Centre, containing a full-sized swimming pool, squash courts, gymnasium and games hall. The general public make use of these facilities outside school hours. There are extensive playing fields adjacent to the school, including an all-weather, floodlit astroturf pitch. Scots ( endonym: ''Scots''; gd, Albais, ) is an Anglic language variety in the West Germanic language family, spoken in Scotland and parts of Ulster in the north of Ireland (where the local dialect is known as Ulster Scots). Andy Stewart (musician)
Andrew Stewart MBE (30 December 1933 – 11 October 1993) was a Scottish singer and entertainer. He presented the BBC TV variety show ''The White Heather Club'' throughout the 1960s, and his song " Donald Where's Your Troosers?" was a hit in both 1960 and 1989. Peter Watson Mills, CB (born 1955) is a British minister of the Church of Scotland and a retired senior Royal Air Force officer. George Robert Milne Murray (11 November 1858 – 16 December 1911) was a Scottish naturalist, botanist, diatomist and Phycologist, algologist, noted for his association with T. H. Huxley and with the Discovery Expedition. He was the naturalist aboard the solar eclipse expedition to the West Indies in Solar eclipse of August 29, 1886, 1886, and was a member of several scientific voyages for the collection of marine organisms, leading valuable work on the Atlantic coast of Ireland in 1898. Allan Nicoll MacDonald (25 August 1892 – 18 January 1978) was an Australian politician who served as a Australian Senate, Senator for Western Australia from 1935 to 1947. Cargill Gilston Knott FRS, FRSE LLD (30 June 1856 – 26 October 1922) was a Scottish physicist and mathematician who was a pioneer in seismological research. He spent his early career in Japan. He later became a Fellow of the Royal Society, Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh, and President of the Scottish Meteorological Society.
