Arbroath 36–0 Bon Accord is the result of a football match between Arbroath and Bon Accord which took place on 12 September 1885. It held the largest margin of victory in professional football until the 31 October 2002 match between AS Adema and SO l'Emyrne, but that was a thrown game; this match therefore remains, as of 2022, the largest victory margin in a competitive game. The referee for this match was Dave Stormont. Background Arbroath were drawn against Bon Accord in the first round of the Scottish Cup which was played on 12 September 1885. The lot gave Bon Accord home advantage, but the club decided to switch the tie to Gayfield. Although Arbroath were only founded seven years earlier in 1878, they were already vastly more experienced than Bon Accord who were only a year old. The 1885–86 Scottish Cup was the 13th season of Scotland's most prestigious football knockout competition. Queen's Park won the competition for the eighth time after they beat defending champions Renton 3–1 in the final. Arbroath set a world record in the first round when they defeated Bon Accord 36–0 on 12 September 1885. The score remains a record in British senior football and globally for a match that was not fixed or thrown. Coincidentally, on the same day, Dundee Harp recorded an equally one-sided victory as they beat Aberdeen Rovers 35–0. Pelileo Sporting Club
Pelileo (full form, San Pedro de Pelileo) is a city located at the center of the Andean region of Ecuador called ''La Sierra'' ("the highlands"). It is the seat of Pelileo Canton (48,988 inhabitants, 2001 Census), and forms part of Tungurahua Province. Pelileo is the second largest city in Tungurahua Province behind neighboring Ambato and is famous for the production and sale of blue jeans. Andrew Welsh (politician)
Andrew Paton Welsh (19 April 1944 – 17 June 2021) was a Scottish politician. He was the Scottish National Party Member of Parliament (MP) for South Angus from October 1974 to 1979, East Angus from 1987 to 1997, and Angus from 1997 to 2001. He was the Member of the Scottish Parliament (MSP) for the constituency of Angus from 1999 to 2011. Early life He was born in Glasgow. The youngest of three children, he attended primary school in Cardonald and then educated at Govan High School. In 1967 he went to the University of Glasgow and studied politics and history. Welsh worked as a teacher before he became a politician. Parliamentary career House of Commons Welsh unsuccessfully contested Central Dunbartonshire in February 1974, coming fourth. He was elected to South Angus in the October 1974. Following the election, he was announced as the SNP's spokesperson on housing.
