José María Araúz de Robles Estremera (1898–1977) was a Spanish Carlist and Alfonsist politician, businessman and bull breeder. He is recognized as a theorist of Traditionalist labor organisation and an advocate of gremialism, a counter-proposal to the Francoist vertical syndicates. His lineage of bulls was fairly popular in the 1950s and became a point of reference in the business, to go into decline in the 1970s. María Gardenia Arauz Menacho (born 13 March 1972) is a Bolivian politician and trade unionist who served as a substitute member of the Chamber of Deputies from Beni, representing circumscription 63 from 2010 to 2014. Born in San Borja, Arauz played an active role in union organizing around the Ballivián Province, culminating in her election as head of the region's peasants' federation in 2008. The wide-ranging alliance between the Movement for Socialism and the country's social movement organizations soon led her to join the party, and in 2009, she was elected to the Chamber of Deputies in representation of it. In the course of her tenure, Arauz grew disaffected by the stringent leadership structure of the ruling party. Félix Aráuz (2 May 1935 – 28 February 2024) was an Ecuadorian painter. Aráuz was among the art circles of Enrique Tábara, Aníbal Villacís, José Carreño, and Juan Villafuerte. In 1957, Aráuz began studying under César Andrade Faini at the School of Fine Arts. During his second year, his father died leaving Aráuz feeling nostalgic and isolated. Aráuz funneled his emotions into his work creating some of the most beautiful, heartfelt and dreamlike imagery to date. Reina Cristina Torres de Araúz ( Torres Pérez; 30 October 1932 – 26 February 1982) was a prominent Panamanian anthropologist, ethnographer and professor. She is considered to be a "tireless defender" of Panamanian heritage ethnography. Biography Early life Reina Torres de Araúz was born on October 30, 1932, in Panama City. She studied at the Normal School in the Veraguas Province, and later went to the Lyceum for Young Ladies and finally got her degree at the National Institute in Panama City.
