Arallu
Arallu is an Israeli extreme metal band. As one of the members of the Jerusalem extreme metal scene, Arallu has "thrived off the seeming contradiction of its location within a 'holy' city." Kahn Harris 2007, p. 115 History Arallu was created as the solo project of Moti "Butchered" Daniel, a bass guitarist who has performed live with Melechesh. The debut album ''The War on the Wailing Wall'' arrived in 2001 and featured "a drum machine programmed to ludicrous speed". In 2002, Arallu released their "iconoclastic" second album ''Satanic War in Jerusalem''. Nir Nakav from the band Salem was responsible for the drums and the traditional goblet drum while Daniel performed on all other instruments and vocals. The album featured a cover version of Slayer's "Evil Has No Boundaries". Daniel expanded the band's line-up after the release of this album and a DVD ''Visual Chaos Invasion'' was released in the following year. Black Metal
Black metal is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal music. Common traits include fast tempos, a shrieking vocal style, heavily distorted guitars played with tremolo picking, raw (lo-fi) recording, unconventional song structures, and an emphasis on atmosphere. Artists often appear in corpse paint and adopt pseudonyms. During the 1980s, several thrash metal and death metal bands formed a prototype for black metal. This "first wave" included bands such as Venom, Bathory, Mercyful Fate, Hellhammer and Celtic Frost. A second wave arose in the early 1990s, spearheaded by Norwegian bands such as Mayhem, Darkthrone, Burzum, Immortal, Emperor, Satyricon and Gorgoroth. The early Norwegian black metal scene developed the style of their forebears into a distinct genre. Norwegian-inspired black metal scenes emerged throughout Europe and North America, although some other scenes developed their own styles independently. Some prominent Swedish bands spawned during this second wav ...

Lehavoth
Lehavoth is an Israeli death metal band. In its early years, the band was a pioneering band in the Israeli black metal scene. History The band was formed in 1995 by vocalist Yuval Talmor (better known as Molech) and guitarist Gal Cohen (better known as Pixel) as a melodic black metal band, thus being one of the first black metal bands in Israel. The two, together with Moshe Kahana (guitar), Assaf Rinot (bass) and Uri Hadar (drums), recorded a demo titled '' Brith Ha'Orvim'' which was self-released in 1996, before the band took a hiatus due to the band members' enlistment in the army. In 2000, the band was revived by the two original members, who were joined by guitarist Assaf Enav, bassist Evil Haim and drummer Nir Doliner. This time, the band shifted style from melodic black metal to brutal death metal. With this line-up, the band recorded their first demo as a full band (and with a drummer), and their first as a brutal death metal band. The demo, entitled '' Iconoclastic' ...

Salem (Israel Band)
Salem is an Israeli extreme metal band, pioneers of the oriental metal movement and of the Israeli heavy metal scene in general. Much of their lyrics and music deals with political issues concerning the Jewish people and Israel, most notably the concept albums ''Kaddish'' (1994) and ''Collective Demise'' (2002). History Salem, the first extreme metal band in Israel, was formed in 1985, under the name Axe Metal, and is thus one of the first bands in the worldwide underground metal scene to play black metal. This can be heard in their self-titled rehearsal tape from 1986 and their live demo ''Destruction Till Death'' from 1987, recorded at the 'Penguin' club, the only outlet for alternative music in Israel throughout the 1980s. This formula was later honed by bands such as Beherit and Blasphemy in the early 1990s. After five years underground, the band released another live demo, ''Millions Slaughtered'' (1990), with a new line-up and a genre shift towards the death/doom r ...

Behemoth (band)
Behemoth is a Polish extreme metal band from Gdańsk, formed in 1991. They are considered to have played an important role in establishing the Polish extreme metal underground. Until the late 1990s, the band played a traditional black metal style with heathen lyrical content, but soon changed to that of occult and thelemic themes written by their lead vocalist Nergal and Krzysztof Azarewicz. With the 1999 release of '' Satanica'', the band demonstrated their presence in the death metal scene, while retaining their own signature style characterized by the drum work of Inferno and multi-layered vocals. Despite Behemoth having been labeled as death metal or thrash metal-influenced, Nergal has mentioned that he does not like the band to be labeled. History Early career and first five albums (1991–2000) Behemoth was formed in 1991 as a trio, with Nergal on lead guitar and vocals, Baal on drums, and Desecrator on rhythm guitar. They started with the demos '' Endless Damnation'', ...

Desert Battles - Descending To The Sands
A desert is a barren area of landscape where little precipitation occurs and, consequently, living conditions are hostile for plant and animal life. The lack of vegetation exposes the unprotected surface of the ground to denudation. About one-third of the land surface of the Earth is arid or semi-arid. This includes much of the polar regions, where little precipitation occurs, and which are sometimes called polar deserts or "cold deserts". Deserts can be classified by the amount of precipitation that falls, by the temperature that prevails, by the causes of desertification or by their geographical location. Deserts are formed by weathering processes as large variations in temperature between day and night put strains on the rocks, which consequently break in pieces. Although rain seldom occurs in deserts, there are occasional downpours that can result in flash floods. Rain falling on hot rocks can cause them to shatter, and the resulting fragments and rubble strewn over the d ...

Mayhem (band)
Mayhem is a Norwegian black metal band formed in Langhus in 1984. They were one of the founders of the Norwegian black metal scene and their music has strongly influenced the black metal genre. Mayhem's early career was highly controversial, primarily due to their notorious live performances, the 1991 suicide of vocalist Per Yngve Ohlin ("Dead") and the 1993 murder of guitarist Øystein Aarseth ("Euronymous") by former member Varg Vikernes ("Count Grishnackh") of Burzum. The group released a demo and an EP that were highly influential, and amassed a loyal following through sporadic and notorious live performances, attracting further attention through their ties to the string of Norwegian church burnings and the incidents of violence surrounding them. Mayhem disbanded after Aarseth's murder, shortly before the release of their debut album, '' De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas'', regarded as a classic of the black metal genre. Surviving former members Jan Axel Blomberg ("Hellhammer ...
