Its name was approved in 1973 and refers to the French astronomer François Arago. Arago is highly eroded and subdued and is thus ancient. Arago is believed to have once held a giant lake that drained into the Naktong-Scamander-Mamers lake-chain system.Fassett, C. and J. Head III. 2008. Arago Telescope
Arago telescope (''Lunette Arago'') is a 38 cm (15 inch) aperture refracting telescope at Paris Observatory, installed in 1857. Francois Arago ordered this telescope from the telescope making firm Lebreours in 1839, and after a protracted development was completed by 1855. The name ''Lunette Arago'' (Arago refractor) is a modern name for the telescope, and other large refractor of Paris observatory, is the one at Meudon. It has gone by a variety of names having to do with various aspects of the telescope, such as its aperture, or location on the East tower of the Paris observatory, or its equatorial mount made by Brunner. In one journal report it was called the 'east equatorial' for example, in another instance '38 cm refractor'. In French language it has been called the ''La lunette équatoriale de 38 cm de l'Observatoire de Paris''. The telescope had an objective lens 14 ''pouces'' across, which is a name for Paris Inches; this works out to about 38 cm (14.96 ...

All the disciplines usually associated with the royal colleges were offered, apart from Greek and Latin, which were replaced by foreign languages. Students at the école Arago even received calligraphy classes. The Parisian EPS were a great success. They prepared students for schools such as the École de physique et chimie de Paris, the École nationale des Arts et Métiers, and the École normale d'instituteurs. Rings Of Neptune
The rings of Neptune consist primarily of five principal rings. They were first discovered (as "arcs") by simultaneous observations of a stellar occultation on 22 July 1984 by André Brahic's and William B. Hubbard's teams at La Silla Observatory (ESO) and at Cerro Tololo Interamerican Observatory in Chile. They were eventually imaged in 1989 by the ''Voyager 2'' spacecraft. At their densest, they are comparable to the less dense portions of Saturn's main rings such as the C ring and the Cassini Division, but much of Neptune's ring system is quite tenuous, faint and dusty, more closely resembling the rings of Jupiter. Neptune's rings are named after astronomers who contributed important work on the planet: Galle, Le Verrier, Lassell, Arago, and Adams. Neptune also has a faint unnamed ring coincident with the orbit of the moon Galatea. Three other moons orbit between the rings: Naiad, Thalassa and Despina. The rings of Neptune are made of extremely dark material, likely o ...
