Arachnocampa Luminosa
''Arachnocampa luminosa'' (Skuse, 1891), commonly known as New Zealand glowworm or simply glowworm, is a species of fungus gnat endemic to New Zealand. The larval stage and the imago produce a blue-green bioluminescence. The species is known to dwell in caves and on sheltered banks in native bush where humidity is high. Its Māori name is titiwai, meaning "projected over water". The first written record of the species dates from 1871 when it was collected from a gold mine in New Zealand's Thames region. At first it was thought to be related to the European glowworm beetle (''Lampyris noctiluca'') but, in 1886, a Christchurch teacher showed it was a larva of a gnat, not a beetle. The species was first formally described in 1891 with the species name ''Bolitiphila luminosa'' and was assigned to the family Mycetophilidae. In 1924, it was placed within a new genus of its own, ''Arachnocampa'', because the wing venation of the adults and the behaviour of the larvae differed significant ...

Waipu, New Zealand
Waipu ( mi, Waipū) is a small town established in the rohe of the Patuharakeke hapū, in Te Tai Tokerau the Northland Region of New Zealand. The town is celebrated for its settlement by Nova Scotians and other settlers of Scottish heritage. A highlight of the town's calendar is the annual Highland Games held at New Year. Near the town are the Waipu Caves, which contain a significant population of glow worms. History The tangata whenua of Waipū, Patuharakeke are the descendants of Te Toru (also known as Urekuri), Te Taotahi and Te Pirihi Whakaariki. It is through the descendants of Te Toru that Patuharakeke are closely related to iwi including Ngapuhi, Ngati Wai, Ngati Whatua and Te Uri o Hau. Through a series of Crown breaches, outlined in the Patuharakeke Statement of Claim provided in support of the Waitangi Tribunal Cases 745 and 1348, Patuharakeke were alienated from their lands which were confiscated, cleared and on-sold by the crown for colonial settlement. Waipu ...

Tolypocladium
''Tolypocladium'' is a genus of fungi within the family Ophiocordycipitaceae. It includes species that are parasites of other fungi, insect pathogens, rotifer pathogens and soil inhabiting species with uncertain ecological roles. ''Tolypocladium'' was originally circumscribed as a genus containing anamorphic fungi. It was later determined that some ''Cordyceps''-like teleomorphic fungi were the teleomorphs of ''Tolypocladium'' species. These species were considered to belong in the genus ''Cordyceps'' until molecular phylogenetics studies found these species to be more closely related to ''Ophiocordyceps'' and were considered to belong in that genus before they were transferred to the new genus ''Elaphocordyceps'' by Sung and colleagues in 2007. However, under the ICN's 2011 " one fungus, one name" principle, fungi can not have different names for their anamorphic and teleomorphic stages if they are found to be the same taxon. Quandt and colleagues formally synonymized ''Tolypocl ...
