Aquamarine is a color that is a light tint of spring green, in between cyan and green on the color wheel. It is named after the mineral aquamarine, a gemstone mainly found in granite rocks. Aquamarine Fukushima
(officially ) is an aquarium located in Iwaki, Fukushima, Japan. The aquarium opened on 15 July 2000. The public aquarium is the largest in the Tohoku region and is focusing on education of environment.   History The nickname "Aquamarine Fukushima" was selected in 1998 from a total of 4,722 applications. The 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami on 11 March 2011 resulted in power being cut off to the aquarium. Many fish died, but some marine mammals and sea birds were subsequently transferred to Kamogawa Sea World, to the south, Ueno Zoo, Tokyo Sea Life Park, Kamogawa Sea World, Izu Mito Sea Paradise, and Enoshima Aquarium. Although the main building sustained only minor damage, outside pools were washed away, and there was major damage to the electrical system (causing the death of about 90% of the animals in the aquarium). Aquamarine Power was a wave energy company, founded in 2005 to commercialise the Oyster wave energy converter, a device to capture energy from near-shore waves. The company's head offices were in Edinburgh, Scotland. The company ceased to trade on 20 November 2015. History The Oyster concept originated from studies conducted in 2003 by the wave power research team at Queen's University, Belfast, led by Professor Trevor Whittaker. The studies were co-funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council and Allan Thomson, who had previously founded and led the UK's first commercial wave energy company, Wavegen. In 2005, Thomson founded Aquamarine Power to progress the commercialisation of the Oyster device. MV ''Ocean Star Pacific'' was a cruise ship owned by PV Enterprises International. She was built in 1971 by Wärtsilä Helsinki Shipyard, Finland for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and christened as MV ''Nordic Prince''. She subsequently sailed under the monikers ''Carousel'', ''Aquamarine'', and ''Arielle'', prior to being renamed ''Ocean Star Pacific''. Cheung Sha Wan
Cheung Sha Wan is an area between Lai Chi Kok and Sham Shui Po in New Kowloon, Hong Kong. It is mainly residential to the north and south, with an industrial area in between. Administratively it is part of Sham Shui Po District, which also includes Lai Chi Kok. History As its Chinese name suggests, it was formerly a bay with a long sandy beach. It spans roughly from today's Butterfly Valley Road at the west to Yen Chow Street at the east. The beach was a gathering place for many Tanka fishermen before its development. The original shoreline approximates the present Castle Peak Road and Un Chau Street. USS ''Aquamarine'' (PYc-7) was the former yacht ''Siele'' launched in April 1926 by Pusey and Jones Corporation, Wilmington, Delaware. In 1940 ''Siele'' was sold and renamed ''Sea Wolf'' which was purchased by the Navy in January 1941 and commissioned ''Aquamarine'' in April. Though given a "patrol yacht, coastal" designation the yacht was assigned to the Naval Research Laboratory for acoustical research during World War II. Compiz () is a compositing window manager for the X Window System, using 3D graphics hardware to create fast compositing desktop effects for window management. Aquamarine is a pale-blue to light-green variety of beryl. The color of aquamarine can be changed by heat. Aquamarine has a chemical composition of Be3Al2Si6O18, also containing Fe2+. It has a hardness of 7.5 to 8. Aquamarine contains no or few noticeable inclusions but it can have inclusions like mica, hematite, or salt-water. Aquamarine is a common gemstone. However, there is a rarer deep blue variant called maxixe, but its color can fade due to sunlight. The color of maxixe is caused by NO3. Dark-blue maxixe color can be produced in green, pink or yellow beryl by irradiating it with high-energy radiation (gamma rays, neutrons or even X-rays).
