April Rose Wilkens
April Rose Wilkens (born April 25, 1970) is an American woman serving a life sentence at Mabel Bassett Correctional Center after her conviction for the murder of Terry Carlton and the subject of the podcast series ''Panic Button: The April Wilkens Case''. She was one of the first women to use battered woman syndrome in an Oklahoma trial, and claimed to have acted in self defense, but it did not work in her favor and she was still found guilty by a jury. Local Tulsa news stations still to this day are hesitant to cover her case due to Carlton's family owning and operating dealerships which buy ad time from them. Her case caused an "outcry from those who say she acted because of battered woman syndrome." As of 2022, she was going into her 25th year of incarceration. Byron Case
Byron Christopher Case is an American writer and poet imprisoned in Missouri since 2001 for first-degree murder. Case has maintained his innocence and his trial was the subject of the 2010 book ''The Skeptical Juror and the Trial of Byron Case''. Case's trial was also featured on the 2014 Investigation Discovery television show ''On the Case with Paula Zahn'', and on the 2016 MTV television show ''Unlocking the Truth''. Publications Before his arrest and conviction for murder, Case self-published a number of essays and fiction online. In 2007 while serving his sentence, he started to blog via MySpace, however this was later taken down. Gentner Drummond
Gentner Frederick Drummond (born October 3, 1963) is an American attorney, rancher, banker, and politician from Oklahoma. Drummond is a member of the Republican Party and the current Attorney General of Oklahoma. He flew in the Gulf War air campaign during the Persian Gulf War, gaining national coverage for being one of the first American pilots interviewed during the war. Toni Hasenbeck
Toni Hasenbeck (born August 17, 1971) is an American politician who has served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives from the 65th district since 2018. Oklahoma House of Representatives Hasenbeck ran in the 2014 state house election to succeed Joe Dorman as a member of the Democratic Party. She was defeated by Scooter Park, who she successfully primaried in 2018 as a member of the Republican Party, criticizing Park's vote to raise taxes to fund teacher wages.
