Aparadhi (1949 Film)
''Aparadhi'' (translation : The Criminal) is a 1949 Hindi social thriller drama film directed by Yeshwant Pethkar for Prabhat Film Company. It starred Madhubala, Ram Singh and Pran. The film's story and dialogue were by Yeshwant Pethkar with music by Sudhir Phadke and lyrics by Amar Varma. The film is set during the Pre-Independence days and revolves around a husband who suspects his wife of having an affair with a freedom fighter sheltering with them. Plot Sheela Rani lives with her blind father and works as a radio singer. Master Amar is a Physical Instructor who falls in love with Sheela when he hears her on the radio. He pursues her and they get married. Mohan, a freedom fighter takes shelter with them when he is on the run from the police. Soon, Amar starts suspecting his wife of having an affair with Mohan. ''Apradhi'' () is a 1974 Indian Hindi-language action drama film directed by Jugal Kishore, with the script written by R.K. Banerjee and T.N. Sharma. The film stars Yogeeta Bali, Kiran Kumar and Dev Kumar. The soundtrack was composed by Usha Khanna and features playback singers Suman Kalyanpur and Mukesh. It was released on the EMI Records label. Plot A delinquent is at large, a masked man in red clothing nicknamed "Redshirt" who leads a gang of bandits. Inspector Shankar (Kiran Kumar) is assigned to investigate the gang. The gang, wise to the police surveillance, kidnap Shankar's daughter Radha (Yogeeta Bali). While in captitivity she is heavily drugged, which leads to her committing suicide. Shankar investigates four suspects, a wholesome holy man named Mahant Badriprasad (Jagdish Raj), retired army Major Vikram Singh, a poet, and a man named Nawab Ashiq Misaaj (Keshto Mukherjee).
