Apple Film Production
Apple Film Production is one of the first and leading independent production companies in Poland. It was founded in 1990 by Dariusz Jablonski, a graduate of the directing department of Lodz Film School, assistant to Krzysztof Kieslowski on ''Dekalog'', ''A Short Film About Love'' and ''A Short Film About Killing''. To date the company has produced many feature films with famous Polish directors like Krzysztof Krauze ("Street Games"), Robert Glinski ("Benek"), Filip Bajon ("The Spring to Come"), Władysław Pasikowski ("The Cop"), Malgorzata Szumowska, Andrzej Jakimowski, Krzysztof Zanussi ("Solidarity, Solidarity...") as well as with debutants later found as best debutants in Poland: Lukasz Barczyk ("I’m Looking at you, Mary"), Artur Urbański ("Belissima"), Iwona Siekierzyńska ("My Fried Chicken"), Wojciech Smarzowski ("The Auricle"). Dariusz Jabłoński (born 30 May 1961) is a Polish film director and producer, president of his own production company, Apple Film Productions, and one of the leading independent producers in Poland. Biography Jabłoński is a graduate of the Film Directing Academy in Łódź, Poland. Dekalog
''Dekalog'' (, also known as ''Dekalog: The Ten Commandments'' and ''The Decalogue'') is a 1988 Polish drama television miniseries directed by Krzysztof Kieślowski and co-written by Kieślowski with Krzysztof Piesiewicz, with music by Zbigniew Preisner. It consists of ten one-hour films, inspired by the decalogue of the Ten Commandments. Each short film explores characters facing one or several moral or ethical dilemmas as they live in an austere housing project in 1980s Poland. Władysław Pasikowski (; born 14 June 1959 in Łódź, Poland) is a Polish film director and screenwriter. He made his debut film, Kroll, in 1991, which was honored with the Polish Film Festival prize for his debut and the Special Jury Prize. Krzysztof Pius Zanussi (born 17 June 1939) is a Polish film and theatre director, producer and screenwriter. He is a professor of European film at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland where he conducts a summer workshop. He is also a professor at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Wojciech Smarzowski
Wojciech Smarzowski (born 18 January 1963 in Korczyna, Podkarpackie Voivodeship, Korczyna near Krosno) is a Polish screenwriter and director. He studied filmmaking at the Jagiellonian University and the National Film School in Łódź (1990). His 2004 film, ''The Wedding (2004 film), The Wedding'' (not to be confused with the Andrzej Wajda film of the same title) earned special jury mention at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival in 2005. Eurimages is a cultural support fund of the Council of Europe, established in 1989. Eurimages promotes independent filmmaking by providing financial support to feature-length fiction, animation, and documentary films. In doing so, it encourages co-operation between professionals across Europe. Eurimages is headquartered in Strasbourg, France in the Agora building of the Council of Europe.
