Apostolic Nunciature To Singapore
The Apostolic Nunciature to Singapore is a top-level diplomatic mission assigned by the Holy See to the Singapore. The Holy See is represented by an Apostolic Nuncio , a position comparable to that of ambassador, but with ecclesiastical responsibilities in addition to those that concern the relationship with the government of Singapore. Before the Holy See named its first diplomat with the title Apostolic Delegate to Singapore in 1981, its interests, officially ecclesiastic but informally intergovernmental, were the responsibility of an official with the title Apostolic Delegate to Thailand, Laos, and the Malacca Peninsula, first appointed in 1968. Renato Raffaele Martino (born 23 November 1932) is an Italian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He has been a cardinal since 2003. He has been the longest serving cardinal deacon, the cardinal protodeacon, since June 2014. Marek Zalewski (born 2 February 1963) is a Polish prelate of the Catholic Church who works in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He has been the Apostolic Nuncio to Singapore since May 2018. Biography Marek Zalewski was born in Augustow, Poland, on 2 February 1963 to Jan Zalewski and Klara née Krucynska Zalewska.
