Apostolic Nunciature To Cambodia
The Apostolic Nunciature to Cambodia is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Cambodia. It is a diplomatic post of the Holy See, whose representative is called the Apostolic Nuncio with the rank of an ambassador. The nuncio resides in Thailand. The Holy See managed its affairs in Cambodia through a Delegation to Indochina established on 20 May 1925. Pope John XXIII changed its name to the Delegation to Vietnam and Cambodia on 17 June 1964. Relations were interrupted when the government fell to the Khmer Rouge in 1975. After the restoration of the monarchy in 1993, a new mission was established on 16 July 1994 as the Apostolic Nunciature to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Diplomatic Missions Of The Holy See
This is a list of diplomatic missions of the Holy See. Since the fifth century, long before the founding of the Vatican City State in 1929, papal envoys (now known as nuncios) have represented the Holy See to foreign potentates. Additionally, papal representatives known not as nuncios but as apostolic delegates ensure contact between the Holy See and the Catholic Church in countries that do not have diplomatic relations with the Holy See. At present, there is one residential apostolic delegate, for Jerusalem and Palestine, as well as non-residential delegates for four countries (Brunei, Laos, Mauritania, and Somalia) and for the territories and countries without diplomatic relations with the Holy See in three regions (the Arabian Peninsula, the Caribbean, the Pacific Ocean). Peter Bryan Wells (born May 12, 1963) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who has spent most of his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. Paul Tschang In-Nam (born 30 October 1949) is a Korean prelate of the Catholic Church who has worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See since 1985, with the title of archbishop and the rank of apostolic nuncio since 2002. Adriano Bernardini (born 13 August 1942) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who occupied positions in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from the 1970s until he retired in 2017. Luigi Bressan (born 9 February 1940) is an Italian prelate of the Catholic Church who worked from 1971 to 1999 in the diplomatic service of the Holy See and then served as Archbishop of Trento until 2016.
