Apostolic Nunciature To Djibouti
The Apostolic Nunciature to Djibouti is an ecclesiastical office of the Catholic Church in Djibouti. It is a diplomatic post of the Holy See, whose representative is called the Apostolic Nuncio with the rank of an ambassador. The Nuncio resides in Ethiopia and usually holds the title Apostolic Nuncio to Ethiopia as well. Pope John Paul II established the Apostolic Delegation to Djibouti on 26 March 1992 as part of a broader reorganization of its representation in the region. The Holy See's interests in the region was previously the responsibility of the Apostolic Delegation to the Red Sea Region. Patrick Coveney
Patrick Coveney (29 July 1934 – 22 October 2022) was an Irish prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1966 to 2009. He became an archbishop in 1985 and fulfilled several assignments as Apostolic Nuncio, including stints in Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, New Zealand, and Greece. George Panikulam (born 26 October 1942) is a bishop of the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church who spent his career in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He was given the title of nuncio in 1999 and consecrated a bishop in 2000. He retired in 2017. Biography He was born in Puthenchira, Kerala, India, on 26 October 1942.
